I was offered $3.16 on a $34 listing. I would love to see temporary bans on buyers who send such ridiculous offers. What is your opinion? 🙂

If it was an error, why not send the correct amount after? Does common sense tell you that the seller won't accept an offer at 8.0% of their asking price?

I don't know what point you are trying to make. Yes - I'll accept REASONABLE offers. So? If someone offers 50%, as a starting point, I'll counter. If they offer a ridiculous amount, I won't bother responding.

No one is forcing you to read or reply.

Love how people reply like I do not know the basics on how eBay operates. I am well informed on the option to set up with automatic decline. I started a topic maybe many others have thought about. Every thread brings in the whiners who don't approve of suggestions or someone 'saying thoughts out loud." lol If you think I am bothered by insults, I just laugh at you.

Well you can place em on your blocked bidders list for a week.
That might do what you suggest.

So 50% is your min negotiating starting point. Then why wouldn't you set an auto-decline at just below 50% so you'll never have to see the lowballs?
You know how the feature works. Lowballs bother you. You have a clearly defined auto-decline threshold in your mind, though not set on the listing. You asked for others' opinions.
My opinion is to use the tool available or learn how to ignore the lowballs.
If your request for opinions was real, then you can engage in the discussion by letting us know why this suggestion does or doesn't work for you. Or you can mock me for legit trying to help.

Just decline it and move on. Why do you want to punish stupid? Being stupid is punishment enough.

Hello. I did reply why the option is not used by me. 🙂

You know - for months on end, I have replied and tried to help you. Offered legit suggestions, ideas and empathized with your plight.
Every short while (1-2 weeks) you start another thread about how it is always e-Bay. Sales are horrible, etc.
I don't know if you noticed, but I am one of the few who has actually taken the time to read your diatribe and work to formulate a helpful response.
EXCEPT - you do not WANT a response. You just want to come on here, attack those who do post and RANT about your carpy sales.
Albert Einstein said it best:

Posting a thread about BANNING buyers who send low offers and suggesting e-Bay ban these buyers or suspend them is ludicrous. Seriously.
First you are upset that you have no orders or offers. Now you are upset that you have offers, but not the "kind" you want.
Are you 1000% certain that online selling is for you? My suggestion up-thread was for you to consider taking a break from all this and obtaining a "customer service reset", which I still recommend. You appear to have lost sight of "how" e-Bay uses this online platform and "who" e-Bay is aligned with - HINT it is the BUYER and will always be the BUYER.
Your LOL in the title led me to believe this was a JOKE thread and it evidently, is not. All the best to you.

I set my minimum acceptable bid and don't even see the lowballs, use automation!

Did I miss it? The only response I saw was that you might take an offer just below your min and didn't want auto-decline to turn away those offers.
I suggested setting up the auto-decline at 20% below your min so you still have plenty of room for those offers coming in just below your set min, but can still auto-decline the lowballs. Here's the post: link.
Why would that not work?

I would love to use my time to reply to everything here that you seem to taken so personally but, trying to post new listings & keep October going as it is the ONLY nice month I'm having in 2022. The 'LOL' is because I know it is something that would never happen. I post comments here to show others they are not alone in the battle to generate some kind of decent income through eBay. Yes - your suggestions can be helpful if I was not already well aware of what I changes I can make here. Well, I've sold on here for 21 years. What do you think? Do you think I have tried different methods? Tried different items? I am up to 18 sales this month already. After struggling through months of less than 15. All I am doing is adding new listings. None of which are "in demand" or "necessities" yet, I am doing fairly well. What I have seen in 2022 in not an "normal ebb & flow." It is eBay's interference. You don't believe it?; that is your viewpoint. Back to work for me. Take care. 🙂

Just laugh at the offer and move on (ignore). Or counter and decline/ignore if they counter. Putting more than a few seconds of thought into it is asinine.
Can also set your listings to auto-decline offers below a certain amount.

Yes, we do. And you are likely correct on both fronts.
You'd think I would learn to just avoid certain threads. Will certainly work to remember in the future.
