Was it the guitar? There doesn't seem to have been a reserve price set on that listing. Did you set a 'Buy it now" price? That's not the same as a reserve. Check your fees in your seller hub. If you actually set a reserve price, it will show a fee of at least $22, depending on the amount of the reserve price, whereas there would be no fee for adding a 'Buy it now" option on your listing.

Of course eBay cannot force you to send the guitar to the buyer. But if you do not, the consquences can be pretty dire. You will get a defect on your account. You will doubtless get a deserved negative feedback. Those are both bad news for any seller, but most especially for a first-time seller.
I guess it really comes down to this: If this is the only thing you wanted to sell on eBay, don't ship, take the penalties, sell the guitar somewhere else. If you want to continue to sell on eBay, ship the guitar and take the hard lesson as learned.

EBay still gets a portion of won sale if you cancel it.
You will get charged for canceling a sale.
I cancel an auction with a bid of one cent and EBay charged me one cent for canceling auction.

Why would any experienced seller list an item for one cent? I didn't think you could even do that.

You are talking about something completely different than a RESERVE price.
If you use a reserve price on an auction then you are charged a nonrefundable reserve FEE for doing so. NO bids even have to be placed.

$400 for a beat-up guitar? Wow, you should be happy, take the money and run.

The listing didn't have a reserve.
You might have put a But It Now price, which goes away once a bid is placed.
