Good afternoon all,

My husband and I just started our own small business. We already have listings on Etsy and thought we are going to add them to EBay as well. Well we thought wrong. I made a new business account today, as I only have a personal account and didn’t want to use that as I only buy on that one. Also never got banned or anything from eBay as I never use it up till last year.

After placing all my listings I immediately got suspended. I contacted them and they told me I was a danger for the eBay community.

I can not even understand why. The things we sell are CLP regulated handmade (from our own home) shower steamers and candles. We have safety data sheets of everything as Product Information Files and CLP labeling.

When I asked why they didn’t want to answer me because of a stupid policy. But I’m now suspended for life without a reason and without doing anything wrong.

Anyone knows more about this subject ?

Did you completely sign up and complete MP, managed payments before listing?

Yes I did everything, that’s why it costed me the whole day. I signed up, set everything up before listing. But after all the listings were on there they suspended me. I already chatted with them but they are not very friendly or informative at all

E-Bay will not tell you exactly why they suspend/ban a Seller.

Not everything homemade can be sold here. Perhaps a keyword trigger? If the other account was there - might have been better to use it.

Were you limiting where they could be sold? Import restrictions to some countries might prohibit homemade, etc.

No as I never used anything to sell. It is since I started living in the Uk I use EBay more often but still not a lot. I never had any issues I didn’t even knew something like this could happen

Are you selling in UK and listed as a seller in the UK?

It is important where your account is set up and where you are from

and where items are being shipped from.

Its a tax thing.

Much is the same, but there are some differences in the various international platforms.

This is the USA site and you are registered in UK. The answers we give are based on USA/ebay.com.

I’m not sure if the eBay for Business Facebook page is just for North America, but it wouldn’t hurt to reach out to them, as well.

Were you trying to register on ebay.com or ebay.co.uk? If you had this experience while trying to register on ebay.co.uk, you might consider posting this same question on the ebay.co.uk discussion boards. While the two platforms are quite similar, and you're certainly welcome to post here, you may receive helpful comments from your fellow ebay.co.uk sellers.

How many listings did you put up?

As a new seller, you would be limited on how many listings you can have.

Slight correction: this is not the "US site." It's the site for anyone registered on ebay.com, no matter where in the world they might be located.

Hate hearing this. So sorry this happened to you.

There are many reasons an account could get shut down. All we can do is guess. It is possible to get closed down if it is linked to a troubled or suspended account. When accounts get linked, it can be thru ISP address, physical address, shared names, etc.

Altho it is unlikely, I hope you can find some answers, perhaps on your home forum. Best of luck to you, and wish you much success in your new business venture.
