Oh look...another change today to cost sellers even more money

So I just got a DOES NOT FIT return request (I thought it looked the same as mine but it does not fit) and It is OBVIOUS he didn't bother reading the fitment chart or the AD because the item only fits one car model for a few years. In the past a buyer automatically PAID  for these type of returns....now it says WORK OUT RETURN DETAILS with your buyer...in other words the buyer knows he is at fault and ebay knows he is at fault but they are now requiring THE SELLER to make multiple emails to a buyer who we all know in most cases will want THE SELLER to pay for the return instead of like in the past when EBAY STATED BUYER PAYS FOR RETURN......

I just love another complication in my life.

If you have "no returns" you can deny a return for fit issues

I am aware of that, but of course you are inviting the possibility of a negative feedback mark, which may in turn affect your bottom line even more than the lost sale and shipping fees, from a buyer who already has demonstrated that they do not understand the concept of PERSONAL ACCOUNTABILITY.

One negative isn't going to hurt you and you can probably get it removed.

We have had a few of those.  Your right it should not be on the seller for those type of returns.  Best regards

Sorry this happened to you. But since you posted what I call "evidence" of a buyer honestly saying they "thought" it looked the same, which means doesn't fit (remorse return) a light bulb has gone off in my head.

If more sellers who get these return requests would come here and post the "evidence" stated by the buyer, maybe this returns problem will get some positive play. I was told by a Blue they will not use the ebay messaging (or any other email) to verify as evidence from the buyer to decide whether a return is remorse or SNAD. Thanks for posting.

Perhaps I'm wrong but I don't think that ebay expects you to pay for the return as this looks like a buyers remorse return.  They did not automatically accept the return and send a buyer paid label because you don't accept returns. They are giving you the option of accepting it or denying it. If you accept it, they will likely send the buyer a label which the buyer will have to pay for.

Typically, this simply means to accept the return and VERIFY the return address, but "Does not fit" usually is on the buyer to pay return shipping.

Before in these cases it was MANDATED by Ebay that the buyer pay for Return shipping because the mistake was on them. Now they have added another step where the buyer can feel slighted by your refusal to pay return shipping for them even when it is not your fault. It is just one more step in eliminating what tiny amount of buyer Accountability that was left built into the system.

The will not use the boards either as it is just such a small faraction of the millions of sellers and transactions that occur on ebay not to mention how things usually get so blown out of proprotion and ignore facts and such.

EBay is going to teach sellers "the buyer is always right" customer service one way or another.
As it is now if they were to use the boards they would see a lot of people not taking their own reposnibilies in things and just throwing blame even if they have to make things up to do it...and others who are not invoved jumping on that bandwagon just because and also throwing in things that were never said and a myriad of other things to also blame and villify someone else they had no first hand knowledge about.

If they were to use the boards their policies would be even worse and stricter than they are now.

I do not have a return.
But know advising someone else to deny it...just sets them up for a dispute or a credit card dispute instead not to mention bad FB....and dings to their account

if a buyer wants a return / refund they can and will get it. Sellers need to accept that...it is not new policy anymore

Just another way Ebay is continuing to push sellers to give Free Returns.  This is what they want site wide and they will continue pushing until Wenig pulls another of his my way or the highway stunts and makes it mandatory for all, at which time I fully expect to see a large exodus of sellers similar to 2008.  Ebay continues to push for lower prices with the new hire promising to show us the error of our ways by showing comparisons live while also pushing for free shipping, preferably both ways.  This all comes out of the Sellers pockets so why should Ebay care how much it costs.

But sellers have to make a living on this also or its not worth their time and efforts so if you get free returns and free shipping then the cost is built into every item sold and Ebay can show us what they consider comps all day long, but no sales beats selling the items at a loss all day long in my world.
