Has anyone offered a free gift with the purchase (in only one category) and if so :

1) What are eBay rules?

2) Any success?

3) Any problems?

4) Any advice?

Here's what eBay says about bonus or gifts in listings:

Bonus items are allowed as long as you follow these rules:

• Don’t set any conditions that must be met before the bonus applies

• Offer the exact same bonus item to all buyers in multiple item listings

• Bonuses, free gifts, and other items that don't significantly affect the value of the item may not be included in the listing title

I always figured that if a gift or bonus item is mentioned (even if you don't say exactly what it is), it is no longer a gift or bonus item, and is part of the listing.
