The times In New York City are different now, not business as usual...
I just was amazed at my thought process when I received a low offer.
Obviously never considered that before.
Making a low sale vrs. Dying.
Have not been outside in 6 days now. Staying inside.

USPS does free pickup service, why not do that? dylanlg
Yep ,, I do that all of the time and it's easy peasy . I never waste time or gas driving to the post office . I don't think I've even stepped foot in one in a few years now. However my outgoing packages always arrive on time . Curb side service is the bomb ! Tulips

Well, it is now Friday, the package was due to be delivered by today and it has no scans at all. I am disappointed. I am sending a replacement to the buyer tomorrow. mcdougle
When a outgoing package misses it's first scan its not likely to be scanned at all until it's actually delivered . The mail is a bit slower right now because of the pandemic . If I were you I'd give it one extra day before sending out a replacement . Late doesn't always mean lost . I would bet it will be delivered very soon. Tulips

I'm a little confused, if you are prudently not leaving the house then why aren't you on vacation on ebay?
I do not do pick up myself since I ship Media Mail. What I do is leave the mail on the Post Office loading dock. I am the only person there. It can be a trust issue, could someone actually steal packages from a loading dock? I just push the tubs and boxes as far back as I can. You might want to check out your P.O.'s loading dock.

Seems like a rather dramatic way of putting it. Most sellers here would refuse an offer "so low" even if there was zero risk of dying.
But I'll play along.
If there really is a meaningful chance of death, is it worth making that trip for your normal price?

I'd risk death for DOUBLE my normal price. 😉

I went in to the PO on Wednesday and spoke with the Post Master and my carrier. Post Master did some extra checking using the tracking number and the carrier remembered me and said he scanned the package in. It just is not showing up 😞

When asked by his boss about failing to do his job, would the carrier admit to not scanning them? 🙂

This order is going to one of my frequent buyers. I did a special order for them that they purchased yesterday. So, I am going to just put the replacement in with the special order, stand in line at the PO today and hopefully everything turns out just fine.

Thank you 🙏 all for such comprehensive good thought 💭 on this issue.
It’s a tipsy turvy world 🌍 now. Never thought I’d be spending my days watching classic movies on television. The local news reported 5,000 died in New York yesterday.
As to what to do about eBay now, I haven’t a clue but I’m 75, a life long antique dealer, no pension, and need the money coming in. I’m also in the most vulnerable category.

I would hope the carrier told the truth, but maybe he didn't if he thought there would get repercussions from the Post Master.

At the risk of getting on your case, if you have been sheltering at home for 6 days how are you shipping at all?
On a more helpful note, do you have a support group you can call on to take your mail to the Post Office? I hope that all seniors have a support group for buying their groceries and other essential trips out of the house. If you you switch to a longer handling time your helper could go maybe 2 times a week.

Thank you again taking time to respond to me!
I got food delivery from local grocery store.
That was a horror! Missing items, wrong items, stale bread, bucket load not fresh red grapes enough for an army, exorbitant price.
My sister in another country said let it pass that I may need to order food from him again.
& no, I don’t have any support group. All really alone here.
I asked my apartment building’s Porter if he’d go to the post office for $10. But all the work schedules are now different and I don’t know if he will actually do it when I make a sale.
The last sale I made here On eBay was last month.
It was a blessing mysteriously sent by Heaven. $2000.
Got me through March but now is April.
Don’t get old! It’s rough.

I am sorry to hear that you are on your own. Though if I sold something for $2,000 I would not want to hand the package off to just anyone to mail! The food delivery was a real disappointment. I don't know much about Meals on Wheels but would you quality for that service?
About all we can really hope for is the development of a safe and effective vaccine for Covid.

Just asked my porter by text if he will still do it.
He said, “No!”
Not that I blame him at all...
I guess if I still offer my items for sale on eBay right now, I am the person going to the post office if I make a sale.
Don't have any printer to print up a label at his time.
Thank you again.
