Offer From International Buyer

Hi, I listed my item as an auction for $60 dollars plus domestic shipping (buyer pays). I recently received an offer from a buyer willing to pay $150. However, the problem is that this person lives in the UK. I am not experienced with eBay and I was wondering if the shipping prices are adjusted for international buyers and if so, do I need to pay for it? In addition, is it worth it? Thanks.

Since your listing is setup for USA shipping only....you would need to change your listing to allow for international shipments.   In additional to regular selling fees you must pay additional international fees of 1.5% (based on total sale...purchase price + shipping + all taxes).

To protect yourself you should turn on "EBAY global shipping" option.   You ship package to USA location and EBAY forwards to international location.    Sellers have better protection is you go through EBAY global shipping option.

But nothing is without risk....if customer gets your item and claims "not as described" (you will be forced to give full refund + shipping BOTH ways).   And of course, international shipping is ridiculously expensive.

I would politely decline the offer as you are not set up for Int'l shipping, not worth the stress at this early stage of your selling career.

Ask yourself this question:

WHY would someone offer you $150.00 for a $60.00 item?

I think the OP set the starting bid at $60 ... it's an auction.

@kessentials

YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO SHIP INTERNATIONALLY

YOU MUST:

-Have an Ebay account in good standing

-Have earned at least 10 feedback points as a seller (you have zero as a seller)

-Have made your first successful sale more than 90 days ago (it's been like 2 days since your first sale)

-Post in an eligible category (blah blah blah, excluded categories for international sales are explained)

-Specify where you ship to (Approve/Disapprove different shipping locations internationally)
