So just this only apply to black americana?
I see plenty of things that are offensive. For one these dolls! Yet they are still for sale.

I agree 100%!!!
However, some of the items they remove are not offensive at all while other items continue to be allowed. Maybe it was the two words black americana tied together that got it flagged and removed. I will relist without the word americana even though that is an entire group of collectibles and collectors.

Sorry! I was kinda joking with you. I didn't mean to open up a whole can of worms.

Be careful about relisting them. You're on their radar now and relisting them might very well get you kicked off eBay permanently.

"Define the "white race"? So the Irish and Scots transported to Barbados, Monserrat, the colonies under cromwell were not enslaved? The very word slave is derived from the Slavic people who were enslaved. "
I never said some white ethnic groups were not enslaved..what I said was, "The white race was never depicted as slaves."

Last year eBay put the kibosh on the Black Americana category. Prior to this, for the most part, BA did an unrestricted brisk business on eBay. So your items may not be offensive per se, but they fall into a sensitive category that is being cautiously scrutinized.
If you value your selling privileges, do not relist the removed item(s).

It's ok I was just frustrated that they pick and choose what is offensive.
And just as eBay gets to decides what is permitted on their site, you get to decide what is permitted in your shop.

Yea, the criteria ebay uses is generally the rolling of dice and "who shall we pick on today". What ebay decides is offensive has little to do or what actually is or isn't offensive....
A couple years ago I auctioned a cast iron BA bank, ebay removed it with bids on it 3 days later.
I sold said piece at my yard sale...several days later the same exact item shows up on ebay in BIN format and, even after reporting it personally, it stayed up on ebay for approx. 5 months until it eventually sold.
This tells me that it isn't what the item is, but rather who is selling it that makes it offensive.

Imagine if ebay removed everything that offended everyone, there would be nothing left to sell. We are all entitled to our own personal opinions as to what is offensive, but there needs to valid reasons for censorship... and slavery is certainly a valid reason.
My grandmother was very offended by Elvis...remove him.
The Anti-TV crowd is offended by televisions...remove them.
Some don't like the confederate flag, so lets remove the Dukes of Hazzard
Could someone who actually is trailer trash be slightly offended by the doll...maybe...but that's a far cry from offending a whole race of people.

Depicting a member of any race as trailer trash is highly offensive to someone of that particular race.

Agree, but no one cares. They are privileged according to certain groups, politicians, and the media.

I suspect they would & should care, when being afforded less sensitivity than that being given to others

I have had a partial suspension once for daring to list what others currently have listed and and sold with no problem.
When I point that out to eBay, they just say I should report the other sellers.
Why should I hurt other sellers?
Often the complaint is that the item violates eBay's standards, but just about every "R" rated movie (over a million) does that. All the teenage horror films do, the dramas that involve romance, even some Japaneses animation.
As someone else pointed out, nudity is not pornography, as the thousands of listing of nudes of great artists that are listed show.
All of a sudden "I" cannot list playboy videos, even though there are many listed including the one I had removed.
Either there is a policy and it applies to everybody or there is not.
Selective enforcement just makes eBay look incompetent.
Race has little to do with it, it's more about eBay insanity.

What if that silly doll was also manufactured with a much darker flesh color and labeled trailer trash ?
I would also consider it as offensive.
