Offensive Material listing

I just received a message from eBay that my listing of 2 small Squishmallows are considered “offensive material”

Seriously?!? Not only have they been listed for several months, but they are stuffed animals! Has this happened to anyone else? What did you do about it?

Without seeing your listing, it could be a word or expression used in your listing that is getting flagged by AI.

There is controversy surrounding the Squishmallow brand. There are those who believe they represent violent Zionists. Others are upset at the inclusion of religious figures among the characters. What character was your Squishmallow listing?

When eBay removes a listing, there is not much to be done. My best advice is to not relist a pulled item—ever. Even if you contact customer service to complain and they give you a verbal ok to relist, the odds are high that it will be removed again, and the account given a stiffer penalty.

Multiple violations on the same pulled item can threaten one’s account standing. Penalties on eBay are cumulative. A first offense may be just a minor slap on the wrist, but the second offense can cause a 3-day suspension. And it goes up from there. A third offense can get a 7 day suspension. When a seller hits a month detention, the account is toast. You could find yourself paying 6-7% higher Final Value fees, get designated as Below Average, and listings get lower placement in Search.

So the risk can be substantial if one tries to relist.

Wow that is crazy. I had no idea. This is the title of the listing that was removed

5” Stevon & Azizi Plush Valentines Day 2023 Set NWT

I have 3 others listed too that are apparently fine.

I’m getting zinged on counterfeit items too all of the sudden too - they are not!  Very disappointing that isn’t much I can do.  I have a positive seller reputation but could another buyer report me just to be malicious?

thanks for your reply!

@melsells-313, that listing doesn't seem to have been removed?

You currently have an active listing with that title, which was listed on Dec. 21 and it is showing up in search. Why did you think it had been removed? What was the wording of the warning or message you received about this?

This is odd then. I see it now. It was in a list that eBay sent to me telling me 6 listings were removed. I knew about 3 of them … 2 for coupons, 1 for counterfeit Pokémon PJs from Target that my son grew out of 🙄 and yesterday 2 coach purses that I want to appeal. It was the first time I saw the remark about this listing.
just very frustrating to me!

Sometimes the violation is out of a reason as simple as not having used the letters (tm) after the brand name, however it would be ill advised to relist without knowing the reason one, and two even if you find the reason and make the correction sellers here have had their newly corrected listing pulled again as well.

Could a malicious seller be reporting you, we'd love to think that however it's just as likely the stupid smart AI bot flagging things because of someone who came before and did something that is the reason why we can't have anything nice in this world.

The bots trigger off key words.   I once had a listing removed because of the line, this pen is easy to grip.  If you leave out the space between pen and is you can see what triggered it.

Alway's keep clothing on your Squishmallows, Nude Squishy's are not allowed!

@melsells-313, it is quite possible that the squishmallow listing was included in the warning by mistake, since it wasn't actually removed and it looks like the other ones were removed.

You should be more careful to avoid breaking policy (like the coupon policy) or posting listings that could be potentially counterfeit, or if you know they are counterfeit. You will lose your selling privileges if that continues.

Before you appeal  the Coach purses removal, post pictures of them on the Handbags board and one of the posters there can confirm if they are authentic.

FWIW, I can't comment on (because I can't see) the removed Coach listings but the one Rambler Legacy bag that you sold is genuine.

Do post pictures on the Handbag board. Also, copy and paste the portion of the takedown email that gives the reason for the removals.

Do you see the listing on this page @melsells-313 and does the item number in the offensive material violation email match the item number of the item currently listed?  https://www.ebay.com/sellerhelp/policy
