Ebay continues to change the item specifics that are available for certain categories.!
it's maddening!..
I'm trying to list a tunic, and now, ebay has gone and redone all of the item specifics.. options that used to be available are not. Options that used to be under one item specific are now their own specific.
And of course, this will affect the options that are available to a buyer doing a search.!
Now, when the buyer whittles down results, there are new options available. Options that i never had the option to select when i did previous listings.. This is resulting in my listings being put into the generalized "not specified" folder that buyers often don't bother looking at when they are trying to find something specific.!..
I recognized this problem months ago. Called customer service. I was assured the older listings would be grandfathered into the new category specifics... GUESS HOW WELL THATS WORKING! ITS NOT!..
This is a huge problem... even when specifying size... say for instance shoe size.. if i am listing a pair of size 7 womens shoes.. in the past , i would use the size dropdown in item specifics and select 7.
well guess what,, now they have changed it,, and the selection offered is " us 7" ... so if a buyer is searching for a style of shoe. and uses the left hand column to whittle down the size,, my listing with "7" selected will not show up when the buyer selects the option ebay offers.."us 7" ..
i list the size in my title. so i'm still ok , for the most part,, but with other specifics,, this is unacceptable!.... now unless I go back to every single listings and redo it,, selecting new item specifics, removing item specifics that are no long provided by ebay.. etc... my listings will not show up when buyers use the left hand column! UNACCEPTABLE EBAY
Can other sellers please check and see if the same is true for other categories.. and also.. other clothing sellers, will you check if ebay is selectively rolling out the changes in listing specifics. or do you also have this issue. Anybody have any ideas ,, other than redo every listing?
