Fake Buyers on Buy it Now Listings

Hi,

I've been having issues with fake buyers or bots hitting 'buy it now' on my BIN/OBO listings. The "buyer" typically has a 0 rating, meaning I can't block them based on a -1 or lower rating. Even though I have set the listing to require payment on purchase, they typically put in a best offer that triggers a sale to avoid that requirement.

Is this a common problem? Is there a way to prevent this? Any recommendations?

You'd have to stop using an auto-accept price with Best Offer.

Ok makes sense. Is this that common now?

I just don't understand why anyone would bother creating a bot  to "fake buy" products. Is it something like 1/100 people just send the item without checking for payment?
