Now What? This One Is Blowing My Mind

Quick backstory that will probably turn out to be long.

Buyer haggled for days for an item promising to pay immediately. I finally sold it to her. She took 9 DAYS to pay. She kept sending me messages saying she would pay the next day, she promised. I had no problem waiting I just wanted payment by May 31 because I was leaving for vacation and I told her that.

As I predicted, she waited to pay on the day after I left. I actually had to bring the item with me along with packing materials because I knew this would happen.

Anyway, not long after she paid, she started blowing up my mailbox up asking for a refund. A lot of the messages were copy and paste of the one before.

She asked for a refund so I cancelled the order. I thought that was what she meant until she started sending more messages this morning. Apparently she wanted me to go ahead and ship the item AFTER refunding and she would work payment out with ebay after she received the items.

The non-duplicated messages are below.

I don't know if she is a scammer or just naïve. Surely she seriously doesn't believe she can get people to send her items before she pays, although that is what she said.

Her Messages:

#1 Hello. Can u pls refund pymt for this item. My entire order was supposed to be charged to my Pay Pal Credit, but Ebay charged it to the wrong form of payment. Pls confirm receipt/reply asap. TU!!

#2 Hello. I'm not sure if I contacted u already, but I am requesting that u refund pymt of this item. My entire order was supposed to be charged to Pay Pal Credit, but Ebay charged it to the wrong form of pymt. Pls confirm receipt/reply asap. TU!!

#3 Pls do not cancel the order for this item. U are already paid, the problem is Ebay used the wrong form of pymt for my order, which I will deal with once all items have been received. Again, pls do not cancel this order. Pls confirm receipt/purchase asap. TU!!

#4 No, pls do not cancel order. I will deal with Ebay when all my items arrive. TU!!

AFTER I cancelled her order and told her I had to in order to refund, she is now blowing up my mailbox again with these messages:

#5 Can u pls send me a link to repurchase at the same price?? I m sorry, but Ebay screwed my entire order up. Pls reply/send link. TU!!

#6 Hello Again. I would really like to re-purchase the 1oz Algenist Anti Wrinkle Cream that was cancelled from my order due to an error in form of payment by Ebay, and which is why I requested cancellation in the first place, as that was what Ebay told me to do ... which was also a mistake.
Therefore, can u pls send me an invoice for $26.74, which is what I paid originally.
Pls confirm receipt/resale asap. TU!!

#7 Once again ... Pls Do Not Cancel Order. If u have already, pls send me an Invoice for $26.34 to Repurchase Item. TU!@

What now? The only thing I can do is relist the item as we can't send invoices because we are not allowed to have their email to send invoices.

To be honest, I would rather not sell to this person. She strung me along for 9 days and I stressed to her that I needed payment by 5/31 because I was leaving town and needed to ship before I left.

I have now told her 3 times that I am on vacation and it's like she doesn't hear me. I have already told her I would be relisting the item next week and she is still sending me emails.

I just don't want to go through this again. Her excuses for not paying on time was because she was out of town and then it was because she had a big order to charge to her Paypal. and then empty promises that she would be paying the next day and the next and the next.

I guess what I am asking is if I should just block her? If I do and she leaves negative feedback for the cancelled item because of the block, would ebay remove it?

Block, block, block

Ignore any further messages.

If she does happen to neg, you should be able to get it removed since she's asking for you to send without payment.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

I rarely say to block people, and don't block many myself, but I would be tripping over myself to block that ID.

Another vote for block, block, block.

Delete any further messages without reply and enjoy your vacation. Some customers just aren't worth having, and I wouldn't want this one either.

Additionally, I think her Paypal Credit excuses are bogus, but that's neither here nor there.

After you relist, keep your eyes peeled to see if she tries to buy from you again with another ID after you have blocked this current one. If that happens, come back here for help before shipping.

Some people are not even ashamed to steal from others - to the point that they will just bluntly ask and expect you to give them free stuff. I usually block those types immediately.

I don't know if she's honest, but she's trying to control the terms of service. No retailer online or offline will just send items WITHOUT GETTING PAID, so why does she expect it with you??

Don't keep communicating with her. But save all her messages as evidence of her "weirdness." As long as you save the email messages and screenshots of PayPal payment activity for this month, then calling into eBay CSRs should get rid of her feedback. After all, how can a non-customer leave seller feedback??

I think the key to this whole muddleheaded saga might be that excerpt above. She says, "You are already paid," which you are (I assume), but she expects that somehow eBay will magically change her source of funding, which I think is where this all started. Evidently she wanted to pay from her credit card, but PayPal took it from either her PayPal balance or her bank balance instead, something like that. It doesn't help that she makes mention of talking to Customer Service as well, and Gawd knows what they must told her to get her off the phone.

If you did refund her, she now wants to repay and somehow (presumably) get her funding source correct this time. If you do decide to let her try again, relist as a BuyItNow with no Make Offer, so that you can add the Immediate Payment Required option to the listing. (I believe that now you've cancelled the original listing, she can't re-pay you for that one anyway. I had a similar situation myself recently, where the buyer told me he was getting a "Listing Expired" error, so I did a BIN for him instead.)

I wish that ebay would remove the feedback option for cancelled orders. It's not fair for them to leave it when no sale took place.  Especially when they buyer asks them to. But I am assuming that would be too much to ask of ebay

It's easy for ebay to say " kick back and watch the sales roll in "

Selling can sometimes be really hard work.

Buyer is involving you in her issues/problems, probably best to distance yourself & block this buyer.

She was refunded when I cancelled the order. None of this makes sense to me. The buyer chooses the funding source, not ebay, at least that has been my experience.

A few hours have passed and no new emails from her. I hate to think of what will be waiting for me in the morning.  She is extremely persistent as you saw by her emails.

I am leaning towards not relisting it on that account at all. I don't want to give her or her friends any opportunity to buy from me again.

I bent over backwards for this person and now I feel harassed by her.

Blocked she is!

I would also not list the item(s) she wants.  As long as they are listed, she'll continue to bug you for them. Sell it elsewhere.

The only reason she wouldn't be sure is because she's doing this to more than one seller and has lost track. .
