I’m writing down all the information on missed sales due to not receiving any kind of offer notifications by email or through eBay messaging system.
I lost $10,000+ the first 3 weeks that I noticed all of these expired offers received. I’ve called EBay probably 50 times or more starting a year ago February 2021 and was told it would be fixed in 2-3 weeks and the agent said it’s a software glitch affecting 40% of seller accounts. Well it’s almost a year later and it’s worse than ever. I threatened to complain to the FTC but they don’t care. Now some info in their system has just disappeared. It’s a software glitch or one of them and they need to fix it.

Not excusing eBay, but why not be more proactive and check your account more often, at least once a day, several times a day would be better?

I am having the same issue. I used to get a cha ching sound that I had a sale or a notice on my phone that there was an offer. It started around the time I signed up for the Ebay managed payments a couple of months ago. I have looked and relook at my settings on my Iphone and all looks the same. I have to keep going into the app and look at messages - It is delaying my response time. Did you get an answer?

That's disturbing. Turn on your email notifications as well, relying on the app soely isn't a good idea it's too glitchy. If you have both on and pay attention you won't miss one. eBay loves sending auto-emails!

Are you referring to offers of ten thousand on this account? Do you send offers out to your watchers? Maybe those are the expired offers you are seeing.

That was my first thought, too. They don't appear in eBay messages because they're not coming from buyers.

Your issue is different than the OP's. Try updating the app on your phone and check your push notification settings.

I don't know how it works on the iPhone but does any of this works? I have a Galaxy A50...
Find your ebay app
Go to notifications
Hold your finger on Selling notifications for a couple of seconds then let go.
Should get another screen to change the sound. You might have to download a "Ka-ching" sound if you don't have it in there.
I'm not 100% that is where it is to change it but I think that is the place and the iPhone might be different.

Uninstall and reinstall ebay app.

Did they ever fix the glitch? I’ve begged, called over and over. Finally I contacted BBB. They answer with excuse after excuse. I’ve done so well since 2016 and since January this year my sales have went to nothing.
im not receiving offers from members. I’ve checked and have lost nearly $1k by not receiving best offers.
I need them to fix their glitch

This right here is the glitch, only if you send offers and they counter offer will you receive no notifications. Just an email. You mostly have to check eBay’s messages on the app or website to see them. This is the only “glitch” but I don’t believe it is a glitch.

I absolutely understand your frustration. Why don't people rad what you are saying instead of offering non-productive, non-working, solutions.
1. I have an iphone. It is a 2023. I have had the eBay app installed for many years.
2. Realized about 1 month ago (approximately 1/15/2023)--no "sound" when having received "an offer" on an item. I never use the "send offers" as I have seen the glitches in that which I am not addressing in this response. So someone saying it has something to do with this issue is just wrong!
3. Uninstalled and reinstalled the eBay app. Nothing happened and still no "chime/sound" when potential buyer's are making offers.
4. No notification immediately via a "number" showing on the eBay app icon. It has "sometimes" shown on the eBay app icon--but not until much later than when the offer was made!
5. I check my email several times per day. Again, I am receiving an email of the "offer"....however, it is delayed from when the offer was made.
6. I have checked all notifications on my iphone related to the eBay app. My settings have always been correct to allow immediate "sound" when an offer is made. They are correct as of this minute also.
7. I have rebooted my iphone. Did not correct the problem of NOT receiving a "sound" when an offer is made.
8. This has caused me to miss sales! I check my email and notification of offers from eBay are delayed! I pride myself on addressing any message or offer from a buyer or potential buyer "nearly immediately".
9. Unless you have actually HAD this problem and come across a SOLUTION--please do not reply. I am not being rude. This is a major problem and from postings here--it is widespread. This needs to be addressed and fixed!

My guess is most here won't reply. This thread is over a year old.
Good luck with solving your problem.

Hello, thank you for your reply. This is such a frustrating app problem. I will go and look when I have the time to see if anyone has posted updated "workaround". Have a good day.
