Wow. But my price change was when they started collecting VAT on top of their fees and MP on top of that, not something you'd be able to see from where you're standing.

Other, in some niche collectibles the expectations of value for a collection can set the prices, it's not like an industry is setting them. You could say that the modern high-grade pencil industry is benefiting from the collectibles + EDC market expectations, it doesn't strictly follow the school season anymore.

VAT is not collected by eBay and is not part of their fees.  Something you should be able to see from where you're standing.

Yes it is. eBay collects VAT + also adds an international fee + also uses higher exchanges rates.

And I'm not on the couch here. This is not about me.

I stopped getting sales October 6th 2022 I usually get a couple a week not getting any over 10 days no offers either I noticed after views reset sales stopped I set up a Poshmark store today transferred ebay items thru Exportyourstore got 2 sales immediately on Poshmark something very wrong on Ebay been selling there 6+ years

Managed payments is collecting the same FVF as eBay charged before they parted ways with Paypal.

The MP fee is instead of the PP fee. It is also slightly lower than PP's current fees.

The International fee was also charged by PP. (Most of my sales are international - to the USA from Canada- so I have been very aware of those.

EBay has been collecting the Australian VAT for over three years, I believe. The US Internet (state) Sales Tax was made mandatory about two years ago, with more states joining as time went on. The UK and EU VAT has been charged for over a year. The Canadian GST etc came into play July 2022.

EBay/MP collects and remits all these taxes, as they are required to do by various governments.

However, they do follow the Standard Practice of payment processors (including credit cards) of charging their fees on the customer's ENTIRE payment, without breaking down what makes up the payment. We had a merchant credit card account from the mid-80s until we retired in 2014 and paid Canadian GST and Ontario PST on all sales that went through our merchant account.
