I’m pretty ticked off right now. Is it just me? Searching eBay for “rare Marcrest” I only see 9 auctions for the brown daisy and dot pattern. Below that it says Using Fewer Words (fewer than 2??) and only a few more are found. A week ago I posted this same Rare Marcrest titled piece that ends in 12-13 hours and it’s not in either search. And it’s only had 2 views, both probably mine. What is going on here?!!! Grrrrrrrr (I also posted this - my only - auction on FB to my friends to see if additional views show up.)

Not unusual; probably nobody has 'searched' for that item yet. It is an item that very few will even know is a thing.

I meant to add that the item went unsold last week and it automatically resisted. Only a few views on it as well. I’ve been selling the same similar piece for years so I know something is wrong here. I tried to edit but couldn’t see where to do that. (Also I didn’t realize that logo with my seller name would show up. I made that a few years ago and forgot about it lol.)

There are 2,000+ results for Marcrest in both Auction style and BIN. I didn't scroll through them all to hunt for yours. But....
I did pull up yours when I copied your title.. Also when I just put Mini Marcrest.
Could be your wording (Mar-crest) in the title or lack of item specifics.
Sorry I couldn't give you a more positive answer.

Can you enhance your item specifics to assist you in better keyword search? Often you can add a custom one or two.....
Good luck - Happy 4th!

I don’t find your item unless I add a few more words from your title. Can’t find it under marcrest, even filtering for a small price range to make searching easier. Disappointing.
I did notice that you are not using many item specifics. That should be the issue.

Almost all of the other listings for "rare marcrest" are listed in the category: Home & Garden > Home Décor > Pottery & Glass > Dinnerware & Serveware (there are several leaf categories available), so when you search for those keywords, eBay is defaulting to search that category only.
Your listing is in: Home & Garden > Home Décor > Pottery & Glass > Other Pottery & Glass, so that is why it is not included in the keyword search, because it's not in the same category as the other listings.
Buyers can still find your listing, if they change the search to include all categories, or a higher-level category that includes your listing.
To avoid this, you should try to list your item in the most common category that other sellers have been using.

No, it doesn't search all categories, or not necessarily. It usually defaults to search the most common category only. You have to look at the top of the search results to see if it has defaulted to a limited category, like it does with this search. Including "fewer words" doesn't help, if your listing is not in the default category.

Thank you. Then eBay AND buyers and are really missing out. I’ve been here 15 years and haven’t heard of such specificity when running a generic search. I can only imaging all the items I have missed out on seeing! You and others reading here are a most knowledgeable group of individuals who know about this search info and details. But I’d bet at least 75% or so casual buyers have ever heard of such … um, crazy specifics.
