I've just started back selling about 3 months ago. I've already had 7 people not pay for their winning auctions and that's from selling less than 150 items. My issue is why it's not posted on a buyers account when they don't pay. I've called eBay and they say that it's put on their account. I wanted to know how I could put it on their account that they didn't pay for everyone to see. In short form trying to get this person at eBay to understand what I was trying to ask was just not getting through. All 7 of these people still show 100% on their feedback. They might not have paid for 10 different auctions but no seller would ever know that. Does someone know something I don't about putting a negative mark on these buyers accounts. Tired of all the extra work that has to happen trying to get someone to pay.

On the 5th day of no payment, Ebay should cancel the order for nonpayment and give the buyer a nonpayment strike on their account.

Most of your auctions only get 1 bid, so why not do away with auctions and list as a fixed price with immediate payment required?

Toss the auctions and make fixed price with payment on purchase
Auctions are good for certain situations but 99.9% of the time payment on purchase is best

As an eBay seller of 23+ years, I'm totally fed up with eBay's non-paying buyers, feedback and return policies giving buyers a free pass. It's time they make buyers pay as soon as an order's placed, including accepting a counter-offer. I can't purchase an item on Amazon or anywhere else without the payment being made FIRST.
eBay also needs to stay out of the return business, that's between the buyer and the seller, period. I'm tired of getting crap back because it's "not as described" when it's clearly because they decided they didn't want it, or found one cheaper or took a part off something. Feedback, well we all know the **bleep** system this is and it's been detrimental to sellers since the beginning and has only gotten worse. If they keep it the least they should do is not have it degrade your discount or listing standard, just let the buyers review before buying and make their own decision if they want to deal with the seller. I'm tired of not getting a selling discount because of the lunatic buyers that would never be satisfied. And we know 99% of them have little to no feedback for their rating. I cringe when I sell an item and see they have 2 feedback! One last remark. Recently I had a buyer purchase a stereo and I literally copied and pasted the shipping info from the ebay shipping details right to the label which I do for every order to prevent mistakes. Well, a few days after shipping I get a message from the buyer asking if I shipped to the correct address and he sends me a screen shot from his phone displaying a totally different address other than it was in the same state. I went back in and he had changed his ship-to details after the sale. Long story short, I researched and found he lived at the original address address but apparently didn't change it on ebay and was trying to cover his ass. eBay took my money saying I shipped to the wrong address, even after talking to two eBay reps that confirmed the old address was on his account. I finally had to file a legal claim with the BBB to get my money back. eBay must have finally realized this was their fault. Good luck ALL.

Even for fixed price sales, if you or the buyer accept a counteroffer it doesn't require the buyer to make immediate payment.
