No more Custom Store Pages . . . WHY??
I know there has been a lot of threads about Custom Store Pages going way with the HORRIBLE new Store Interfaces.
I know it has been almost 3 years and eBay has refused to return that basic store functionality.
What I don't understand is WHY!
What is so hard about providing a few links on the side bar like the old stores had?
I now have over 1,000 listing with dead links because eBay decide their new store interface team didn't have technical savvy to allow their sellers that basic store functionality.
It has been years and if you search "ebay managing Custom Store Page" you still get an active link to ebay's developer page that explains how to manage those pages Custom Store Pages. THE LEAST ebay COULD DO IS UPDATE YOUR OWN PAGE!
This week I was forced to migrate because my old eBay store was broken "cgi6.ebaystores.com's server IP address could not be found." for 2 days!
Also, my "Manage Active Listing" [MAL] page was broken and has been for weeks. If I searched NIKE POSTER it would return 0 results. I have over 550 Nike Posters listed. If I searched Jordan it would return 0 results. I have over 100 Jordan Item listed. I had one listing that I needed to cancel, because the item was no longer for sale. I couldn't get it come up on my MAL page, so I had no way of ending the listing. I spent an hour on the phone with customer support and they couldn't figure how to cancel it either.
For two days my store was basically dead and my MAL page was broken. eBay customer support, said I needed to migrate to the new store interface; which I reluctantly did. They can't tell me why, but it fixed both issues.
It was two days later that I came to the realization that the Horrible new store interface does not support Store Custom Pages and now I have over 1,000 listing that need to be fixed.
In September I was FORCED to migrate to the eBay Mismanagement Payment program. What a fiasco that is. Glad ebay is now getting the 3% PayPal used to get. ebay gets the 3% . . . the sellers get the headache!
This month I am FORCED to migrate to ebay' new store interface! Now I have work, who knows how many hours, because of the new fiasco.
Don't even get me started on ebays BROKEN Inventory system. That has been broken for over 5 years, back then I was told they don't plan on fixing it because they will be introducing a new inventory system. THAT WAS 5 YEARS AGO!
I could RANT & RAVE for hours . . . but I need to get back to all the labor of fixing another ebay fiasco.

"What I don't understand is WHY!"
Because it was ugly and outdated. It has so many layers of old code it isn't financially worth it for eBay to maintain any longer.
"What is so hard about providing a few links on the side bar like the old stores had?"
If you're referring to the FAQs, eBay disabled the ability to create those pages years ago, but they left alone existing pages on legacy stores. Sellers now have to incorporate their FAQ into a different area that appears when a buyer clicks contact seller. It's in settings under manage communications with buyers.
Buyers don't read them though which is too bad. My message volume would easily be reduced by 90% if buyers read my FAQ.
"I now have over 1,000 listing with dead links"
That stinks, but it was expected to happen at some point since eBay said they'd start phasing out the legacy format years ago. Use the bulk editor find & replace function. Update 200 listings at a time and you'll have it done in just 5-6 updates. Let me know if you need help with that. I've done it before and it's pretty easy.
"eBay customer support, said I needed to migrate to the new store interface; which I reluctantly did. They can't tell me why, but it fixed both issues."
Because after years of saying the legacy format would be phased out, eBay is finally moving forward with getting rid of it for good. The **bleep** part is that they didn't send out a message to store owners using that format to inform them that the deadline to update is now. Instead they let sellers using that format run into all these error messages and dead links and spin their wheels trying to figure out what's going on.
I looked at a couple of your listings and you have some awesome stuff. Have you ever thought about updating your listing template to something easier to read? The different color and size fonts is like an old school Geocities website (but without the animated junk). It's the kind of listing I'd immediately back out of after clicking on it because it's hard to read, even if I like what you're selling.

Why? because back a couple of years ago, when they put in the "new" store stuff......they were supposed to fix the rest of the store stuff beginning the next month.......... Unfortunately the entire stores team either quit or was fired in between........so nothing else got up dated and in the yrs intervening nothing else has been done, despite many complaints......
