No Sales

I have not had any sales for the past 9 days....seems very odd?????  Can anyone advise?

@1209petra  If anyone really had the answer to that question, the question would not repeatedly be asked. It's all supposition.

WOW,  1209PETRA -- It worked!! Immediately after I bought the book from you, I made a sale! The first sale in 10 days! The "field" is alive and active. (For those who don't know, Jesus talks about the field, so you can google "field" + Jesus and find out what he says you need to do). Also, scarcity is a lie. Read my posts. The field is more powerful than algorithms if you know what to do. I proved it. We need to support each other, not cave in to "cheap."

I’d sure love it if someone complaining about the algorithm could explain what that actually means in practical terms. And why they think that an algorithm that is targeting and tanking their sales can be defeated by something as irrelevant s as making a purchase from another seller.

What people  bought  yesterday does not mean they will buy it in the future,, depends  on how much funds they  have to spend on necessity items  or on like to have stuff or  how much they  have loaded up their credit cards, competition  becomes  stronger. - in  number, pricing , customer service  etc., 

 Back in the  day 1958 (was 14 then)  Wham-O, known  for  making a top shelf wooden sling shots introduced the Hula Hoop - they  couldn't  make enough of them but the fade did not  last  forever (3 years) as lower cost  competition  came on the scene and  just about every one had one - heck my Mom  had one.  Wham-O  had to  rely on other  stuff to sell.  Today  I saw a few made in China  at our local Walmart.. 

The strong will survive. & if you are not changing - you are getting further behind

The issue of views weighs on me too.  I don't use promotions, maybe that  hurts. 

The main difference for me is with auctions. They used to be the backbone of my business. Hard to say when they started to crater, maybe a year ago? I have so much stuff  to lot up and would love to move them out via auction but it appears to be a useless tactic.

I have no space to store them, can't just convert my unsold area to listed area. I have just about cleaned out my storage unit of unlisted stuff, rent is going up for one thing. I am actually pondering getting a smaller one at a new facility around the corner just for boxes of listed stuff.  I believe it's going to have to be a waiting game for  me.

As I stated, "NONE OR FEW" I doubt that people who are so poor that they have to use food stamps would be buying what I sell. A FEW federal workers may be customers, but they are not my customer base.

NO that is not what I said at all. Please read my replies carefully and in their entirety and form your responses without inserting a narrow focus in an effort to discredit my comments. I am saying that federal WORKERS do not play a major part in my customer base. By far, most of my customers are retired and many of them live in Florida.

October was a good month for me I sold just under 200 items but do send a lot of offers and ran two weekend sale events.  November has started good as well. Try running a sale event it does help bring in traffic.

Every time they update or roll out a new promoted listings platform, it seems like sales kind of tank. Coincidence? Like what other posters said is that there is a government shut down. CEO also admitted Q4 wasn't looking good this year.
