No Sales!!

I know sales are usually slow during Jan/ Feb., but this is ridiculous.  I have not had no sale in 3 weeks going on four.  I sell a variety of items and I just don t get it.  Can someone out there tell me what is going on?

Re: No Sales!!

There are many practices in Ebay folklore that sellers swear by, like refreshing listings. No one can prove whether they work or not.

Over the years, I have found that listing more items not only provides more items to sell, but also provides greater chances that similar items which had previously been listed will sell.

This too cannot be proven.

I believe that today's state of Ebay business is there are fewer shoppers. FB on completed sales, is coming in far slower. Buyers rarely come to Ebay to leave FB, they come to Ebay to buy and leave FB while on the site.

Re: No Sales!!

If I were in the market for large stuffed animals & had the choice of ones photographed on the hood of a car outside, or ones photographed inside on a clean background, I would buy the ones on a clean background.

Other buyers may agree with me.

Re: No Sales!!

I've been wondering the same thing myself

Ever since the new year sales have fallen off a cliff

Could it be that buyers are finally running out of money with inflation being so high?

Having been around for 2 decades, I know that sale usually start to pick up sooner or later, but this year is getting ridiculous

@aeparts1

I think you've hit on something.  One of the listings is actually photographed in dirt.

@corgey22012 ,

You had a sale today and one on February 25th. That 2 sales in the last week.

Re: No Sales!!

In your Sold items I saw that you had sold some white color items that were not plush animals and you used a Blue background for their white shade to stand out.  You do have some dark color items with the same blue shade background.  You should try to make the darker color items stand out more by using a white background.  For example, the black horse you have listed would look more sharp if you used a white color background and maybe tweak the contrast to show more of the horse's features.

I also agree about not taking photos of anything plush on a car hood.  You don't want any prospective buyer to think that you store them in your garage or they have a faint smell of gas or exhaust fumes that may be lingering around in there.

Not to mention that this working schtick just rips the heart right out of the day.

Re: No Sales!!

I totally agree with you. If I was the original poster, I'd invest in a photo box and start retaking pictures of your items with a white background. It will help a lot.

You answered your own question.

How does 2025 compare with 2024? With 2023? with 2022?

When you have records going back years you can compare more usefully.

It is also possible that with the US economy being pushed into recession, people who have high disposable incomes are putting their spare cash into something more disposable than collectibles.
