No Sales

Is anyone experiencing very low sales in August. June and July were slow, but my sales usually pick up in August, and I haven't had a sale in 9 days. This is the longest I have ever gone without a sale.

Re: No Sales

Slowest in 3 years. It's horrible. 2 years ago was about 6-7k a month. Now with better prices, better items, and double the inventory, I'm at about $2,200 for the month. If that puts it into perspective of how bad it's gotten here lately.

It is why I never quit my part time day job and also take a seasonal one around the holidays, which supplements my husband's full time job.

It is because I can count that on a certain day of the week I and my husband will get paid the exact amount we were hired for.

For me ebay allows us to take a vacation every year and as someone who has pre existing conditions, helps pay for medical care and medication.    No way could we live off of what I make here.  But that is the nature of all sales jobs.  You do not know one week to the next.

Re: No Sales

(7) sales thus far in August 2017, and none for the past (14) days.

A steady decline for this calendar year (really, for the past 2-3 years).

I am an eBay seller since 2003, who for the better part of (10) years sold 3-4 books per day, but now struggle to sell 3-4 per week.

Not really looking for any community suggestions ... just wanted to support bargainjewelryandmore, and wish he/she better fortune.

Re: No Sales

I'm puttering along doing pretty much the same sales as last year. 79 across all IDs so far this month. Granted, the ASP could be better, but that depends a lot on what I happen to list and who's looking for it at the time.

Luckily, I'm still able to work FT, but the eBay income certainly makes things easier.

Re: No Sales

Same thing going on here. Extremely, extremely low sales now on ebay, probably 10% of the sales we were getting just 5 years ago. It's as if our listings were made invisible in search to most buyer's, but visible in search to only a few. I've heard many sellers talk about this problem on ebay's community help boards many times before.

Re: No Sales

I'm right there with you bargainjewelryandmore! This year I have had 3 months where I didn't even have ONE SALE!! Not one! I am tettering on losing TRS status because of lack of sales...I wonder about that stuff! Makes me sad! I have thousands of pieces to sell, or should I say, "give away"....I have auctions going on right now starting at .99 cents...NOT ONE BIDDER!! Is it because I didn't offer Free Shipping? 😞

Re: No Sales

I wonder if it's the lack of returns that's ended all my sales in August. I have only been selling for 10 months, but all my sales stopped in August. I have the same number and type of items, but no sales whatsoever!! I offer free shipping on most items but I do not offer returns.

I took all my listings down yesterday. I felt like I was completely wasting my time. I do not sell enough to offer free shipping or free (or any returns).

It was fun to sell my things to appreciative buyers. I loved the feedback I got from buyers, and I was happy that people were enjoying the things I no longer need.

I'm not a professional, just an individual getting rid of items I don't need but are too nice for goodwill. Ebay is not for the likes of me any longer.

Re: No Sales

Yes, sales are cyclical.  Even the best sellers will have slack periods.  Just the nature of sales.
