New drop shipping rules

Sellers who drop ship through a RETAILER will find their listings dropped down in search results. (But not if you drop ship through a WHOLESALER).

So I am guessing that sellers who drop ship through Amazon will be amongst those lowered?

Re: New drop shipping rules

There have been so many negatives since about '13 that nobody can remember the positives anymore other than to lament the "good old days."

I don't agree.  I suppose it depends on your outlook on life.  Glass half full verses glass half empty kind of thing.

Its copyright infringement... not stealing per se.... I'm not condoning the behavior, but part of the eBay policy is that when you upload photos, you are granting license for others to use them. Am I thrilled with this policy? No.

Yes, copyright infringement is stealing.  The thing is that on Ebay that doesn't exist with pictures that we may upload to the site.  When you agree to allow others to use your pictures, which we all do by accepting the UA for Ebay, then there is NO infringement, because permission to use them has been given.

I think they are guilty of drop shipping SEO functions, CS functions, and a few other things. It's their end product to the sellers. MP will be another big one.

That's not drop shipping.. its outsourcing!

Delivering a product or service you don't actually provide to a 3rd party? Say it ain't so!

You can argue this all you want, but it is Ebay who decides this, not anyone else.  Ebay's rules on drop shipping isn't new and has been around for years.  It is also pretty clearly written.  So if anyone chooses to test those waters, they do it at their own risk.

Even looking at it from a B&M perspective.. I could have ten of an item in stock when you call me on the phone and if its a heavy shopping season, those items could be gone by the time you get to the store to buy it. I don't know of many stores these days that will hold an item without a deposit.

The (fairly large) chain I work for will and the other fairly large chain that I used to work for also would.  It's not that uncommon at all.
