As of March 21, 2025, new tariffs on goods produced in Canada or Mexico and sold to US buyers, valued at US$800 or more, are in effect, impacting eBay sales, with eBay prioritizing seller information and compliance.

We cannot begin to know how tariffs are going to effect individuals. Are you selling steel? Oil? Dairy?
Did the 25% tariff imposed by Canada on US goods affect eBay sellers?
The sky is falling. The sky is falling.

I'm sure you'll be fine, at least until a piece of the sky hits you.
Who benefits from these tariffs? No one, as far as I can tell, and that will include eBay sellers. Don't forget that the $800 exemption is supposed to go away when the US can figure out how to collect.

The damage is already done. The sales are already down since march 4, not only the sales but the buying intention. People are not even looking at the listings because they are not thinking about buying they are thinking about saving because bad times are coming . No need to blame Ebay or your listings .

The only thing I recall buying that was ID Made in Canada was several cases or more of Labatt's Light - lived (until I was 23)not far from the Ambassador Bridge and tunnel to Windsor - and a work bench made from Canadian pine - much stronger than Southern pine.

I stopped trying to sell two years ago because sales had been in the dumper for a long time then!

QUICK SURVEY :
How many of you buy or sell things that are valued at $800 or more?
Those of you who say "Not me" are UNAFFECTED and you can let go of your string of pearls.
For example. Honda has just announced they are building a massive manufacturing plant in Indiana instead of Mexico - that way they don’t have to deal with import tariffs. And of course that will create U S jobs - fulfilling one of Trump’s campaign promises to bring manufacturing and jobs back to the US.
Taiwanese chip maker TSMC is investing $100 billion in a new plant in the US so it too does not have to deal with tariffs. And more U S jobs.
Japan’s tech company Softbank is investing another $100 billion for the same reason.
Ford cancelled plans to build a $1.6 billion manufacturing facility in Mexico and is instead building it in the US.
Apple committed to $500 billion over the next 5 years to build multiple data centers in at least 7 states.
And the list goes on. Estimated at this point to be over several Trillion dollars in new U S investments..
You don’t see how that helps you? Well, all those new factories are going to, initially, create tons of construction jobs followed by tons of manufacturing jobs creating tons of people with new money to buy your stuff.
See how it works? Something about the carrot and the stick comes to mind.
As a business man he is targeting the profit and loss of individual businesses even though it looks like politics. We’re going to charge you tariffs - UNLESS you invest money to build here in the US. And if you build in the US we will charge you a lower tax on your profits than if you build overseas.
Check and Mate.

The tariffs are a bargaining tool to get what we want, which benefits all USA citizens.
This is embarrassing, but the truth is at one point I thought you, Meme and Hawaii were all the same user. I apologize for this. Anyways, I just want to state that I hope you find some enjoyment in our prosperity.

Is there anything Trump has instituted that you like? If you can, please reply in a five point, list format.

Sorry, but try as I may I can not limit my list top only 5. Doing so would leave out (and by extension diminish) the multitude of accomplishments.
Now I realize that in a multi-cultural bifurcated country such as ours my answer is going to really yank some people's chains. Oh, well. Neither one of is is ever going to be able to convince the other that they are wrong. And those of us who have escaped Plato's Cave know it is pointless to try.

I have to add my 2 cents...not many here buy $800.+ from Mexico or Canada to USA unless it's underground and / or illegal...

I really hope some of you are going to make it through the next 3+ years. (maybe 7)
Instead of being so emotionally invested in hating the current administration, just unplug and enjoy nature. Go for a walk, join a book club, or something that can calm you. Do something that YOU CAN CONTROL to make you happy.
It is not healthy living in a state of fear/anguish. Everything is going to be ok. Inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
Buona Salute

Yeah, I've heard he isn't into term limits - or much of anything else in the Constitution. Why stop at 7 more years? He seems to think he's been elected 3 times already.

Opposing authoritarianism is doing something you can control. As opposed to just ignoring the obvious, which is what authoritarians count on most people doing. At least they have you in line.

They also depend on people being fatigued and rattled, and finally tuning out for their own mental health. It's the "flooding the zone with sheet" thing. So @chevymontecarlo88 does make good sense in this - we need breaks, rebalancing, recharging our batteries. Everything is not automatically going to be OK, I mean, we're living in a human world** and need to be doing for ourselves, but sacrificing our mental health isn't going to change a danged thing save maybe for the worse.
**Messy at the best of times.
