It is March 30th. The new PLS rules regarding Direct and Halo sales are now in effect.
Also, as of today, a buyer is now said to have "viewed" a Promoted Listing even if he has not clicked through to the listing, as long as he clicked the "heart" to put the item on his watch list. (This change impacts both PLS and PLA fees.)
Both of these changes expand the number of sales that can be treated as a PLS sale.
IF you use PLS , you should familiarize yourself with these changes if you haven't already.

I expect a huge drop in eBay's "money grab" income today. If you'll remember last May when everyone's sales stopped, well today eBay is self-inflicting the same wound that it's sellers suffered(and are still suffering).

Whatever. More for the Schedule C expenses list.

So far I have to wonder if there's some type of glitch because our traffic, and more importantly, sales are much lower than expected for this time of day. Especially considering our ads are at record highs as we're testing something new.
There's been constantly changing patterns each week or so though, seems like lots of changes to the algorithms lately, but hopefully this is just the new system needing time to settle and things improve in the afternoon.

Yep starts today.
Next month: "if a buyer breathes oxygen, its considered a promoted sale at highest rate possible"

I'm waiting to see fees being charged for sales on other platforms.

My question is: On a promoted listing, when you take the item off promoted listing, the percentage still stands for 30 days after removal. Will this be true for the removed promoted listing and the "hearted" items, too? This darn thing has me so confused.

Because of this, I removed all Promoted Listings from my items for sale. I put up with the change from 1% to 2% minimum for promoted listings. Now, I am not going to play ball.

doesn't matter since sales have been quite reduced since quarterly update and getting worse by the day. Once they realize sales are down across the board they'll make another change that makes them even worse and cycle repeats/continues.

the heart thing idk... but PL fee applies if buyer buys in 30 days after they visited... it isn't 30 days after end PL campaign, it's 30 days after buyer first visits the sponsored listing.

ROFL! This ranks up with the "2% for your own good" for sheer front.

devon@ebay This is from the Announcement. Can you ask the ads team to clarify this?
In the past, a "click" was defined as the buyer actually clicking through to the view item page. Now, that definition has been expanded. But reading that sentence from the announcement, it appears that "a buyer's click on the heart icon to add an item to their watchlist" is only ONE example of the expansion.
This sentence seems pretty clearly to indicate that a heart click is not the only "engagement" that will be considered a "click".
So, what OTHER actions constitute an "engagement with features and functionality of your ads"?
Since these changes start today, a prompt answer would be appreciated.

My understanding is that it is now the "Buyer" who is followed and not the ad or item. In other words, if a buyer clicks on your promoted lidting and buys something else entirely even if it isn't a promoted item, you pay for the promotion.
Sellers will be paying promoted fees on unpromoted listings because a buyer may purchase one of the seller's unpromoted listings. If they go to the seller's store and purchase anything, the seller will be charged for it as a promoted listing whether it is or not.

If someone shops in invisible mode and clicks on an item is a click recorded? Then purchases under their main id down the road. Maybe only if a tree falls at the same time when no one is around!!!

This would make sense as to why so many stores iv clicked on and see 700-to the moon in listings but when I clicked the see all it only comes up with 1- a small handful..
