I just saw this new Message experience when using the Message Buyer link on an item on my Active list.
Here are the issues I see with it:
-The typing field is in the lower right hand corner of my screen ... I normally type in the center of my screen on Word docs and other programs.
-The text size in the typing field has ALWAYS been too small and needs to be increased in size
-The Message flow cannot be expanded to be wider nor dragged to the center of the screen in a more convenient location.
-I would just prefer being sent to the Message system since I have become accustom to its layout, although it has the same issue with the small text size in the typing field
-This is one of the first enhancements I can remember where there is no wasted white space ... it's gray instead.
-There is no Comments or Feedback link to let eBay know our opinion on this change
-If this is going to be permanent with this change I hope they make it at least half the screen width ... I am on a PC.
My personal gripe with it (I just noticed it yesterday too) is that you cannot select any of the content still displayed on the page in order to copy and paste, because if you click back anywhere on the left side, the message slide-out window slides away again and anything you've typed is lost. I'm not a fan of this new design.
@mr_lincoln I'm submitting feedback from the Paid and Shipped page, since there's no separate way to send feedback specifically from that window, and hoping it gets to the right people.

That's an excellent idea to use the Feedback link on the Paid and shipped (Orders) page about this.
@mr_lincoln I am not seeing this change yet. I still see the two versions of send messages.... both with the small box. I hate the "improved" messages system the way it is right now.
There are currently two different views when sending messages, prior to this update. One with the airplane and one without.
My preference would be for a larger box and the SAME experience in sending messages if it is to a buyer or a seller.
There is no reason to squish everything to one side of the screen.

I agree ... perhaps it is being "tested" on accounts that have a regular message exchange so they can garner some Feedback.

I had to use this new message flow today a few times ... do not like it at all. The dark blob on 3/4 of the page is distracting and you have to look in the wrong place to type. It is a slightly narrower version on the new and less improved eBay Message flow ...
Glad I am typing right in the middle of my screen here LOL!

Buggy and apparently untested, too. They still have not fixed the text duplication that occurs when you attempt to copy-and-paste within messages.
As for the confusion over how to use it, I suggested long ago that the cue of "Send message" should be reworded to "Click here to enter message" or similar, because I have seen numerous complaints from users who don't intuitively see how they are supposed to use the message window. They're looking at a big gray or white space that you'd think would be your editing window, clicking within that area, and of course nothing happens. They're not going to click on "Send message" down at the bottom when they have not yet been able to key in the message in the first place.
Agreed ... they could avoid the backlash from these changes if they had Sellers actually review them before they launched them ...

For what it's worth, I don't like any chat or message window opening at the right edge in a fixed position.

-Have no clue what they were thinking, obviously not designed by someone who types messages
