New Listing Tool Will It Be Mandatory In Future?

Does anyone know if the New listing tool or form will be mandatory anytime in the future? Today was the 2nd time my store has changed from the old form to the new one. I had to call ebay again to have it changed back.

The CS rep said there are no plans to make the new listing tool mandatory. But could he be wrong?

Re: New Listing Tool Will It Be Mandatory In Future?

They switched me to the new listing tool today. I called and the CS rep said he had no way to switch me back. He said by the end of the month everyone will be on it.

I will now spend the day redoing all my templates.  Sellers have been complaining for months about losing their templates when they are switched to the new tool. Instead of converting old templates to work with the new tool, eBay saves itself money by moving 'forward' and shifting the work/cost to the seller. Arrogant!

Try to list a truck, then select ebay motors and choose the classic version.

Re: New Listing Tool Will It Be Mandatory In Future?

Just called eBay today for the third time to switch my listing tool back to old.  I would not mind the new tool, but there is no option for water marking

pictures.   I wish they would stop switching me over until they have all the glitches workeed out.  Today I was told that the new listing tool format will be mandaboty in the future.

Re: New Listing Tool Will It Be Mandatory In Future?

In April this year I was using the Simple Listing Tool as an Everyday 50 Freebie per month Seller, May 1 I opened a Store and was switched to the (at the time) Advanced Listing tool and then shortly thereafter the New Listing Tool popped up.  Have not really had any issues with learning to use any of them and have grown accustom to the New One.  The gliches are a pain but that's not a function of creating a Listing.

Yes, that is one of the features missing from the new tool and it doesn't look like any of the listing features will be added. If you want your photos watermarked in the future, you may want to consider doing it yourself with photo editing software. It is very easy, but it can be time-consuming! I think the watermark feature was removed because of the new (stricter) terms in the UA about how eBay basically owns and can do whatever they like with all uploaded content including but not limited to photos and descriptions.

That plus all the scrolling and wasted space are the down sides to the new tool.

The upsides do outweigh the down sides, though. It is quicker, the photo portion is MUCH better, and it doesn't have the "hang-ups" of the old form where it kept reverting back to the old settings.

Now the new "relist" page - THAT is not working well at all!! Why can't it just revert back to the listing form (whether using the new tool or the old SYI form)?

Re: New Listing Tool Will It Be Mandatory In Future?

I was switched as a Beta test to the new form the last March. Ebay did not ask or inform me in an email like some sellers.  I gave it a try and disliked the new format very much.  It was very glitchy, hard to read and not  ready for prime time.  I thankfully got to opt out after just a day or two.   Yesterday the new form popped back up and this time I can not opt out.  The old form was so much easeir on the eyes.  I wish Ebay would just leave the listing form as is.  If it is not broke-- please dont fix it!

oh well ymeagainlord, feel like we will have to face the dreaded new listing form soon or later.

i mean i am back to the old one but what i am reading on this thread is not very encouraging.

might as well enjoy the old form while it lasts... Smiley Sad

ps; thinking about upgrading to a premium store but when ebay does stuff like that, i just feel like quitting it all for

      good.

this is no longer fun... the thrill is totally gone... wish there was a venue like ebay was in 2000...

Re: New Listing Tool Will It Be Mandatory In Future?

Considering I can no longer post pics to the board and this ID doesn't even get the option of the new & enhanced uploader when listing I have to wonder if I will even be able to upload photos omce I'm forced into the new "new" tool

Not applicable

I want the option of listing until I remove it, this new form only gives you a 30 day option, if we have to relist every 30 days that's too time consuming and if we are charged extra that's bull.

Re: New Listing Tool Will It Be Mandatory In Future?

My account was migrated to the New Listing Tool again today; unfortunately I have been told that the migration is MANDATORY this time!

Really!!! No Warning.  No Fixing the Inventory Item Problem!

I am hoping I just got ahold of a STUPID ECS rep that doesn't know that they are talking about.

I NEED HELP! ECS is telling me know that the New Listing Tool is mandatory.

Just got off the phone with ECS for the 3 time this morning.  I was told by the 1st two times that my account would be reset to the old listing.  Now I'm being told that the migration is MANDATORY and there is no way to go back!!  That was from the highest level manager I was able to talk to, who honestly just sound like another ECS rep.

Six months I've been voicing my concerns to ECS and filling out "Tell us what you think" surveys.

Just this morning Aaron told me that there was no defined date for when the New Listing Tool would be mandatory.  Aaron was ECS from the Listing Specialist team.

I need to hear from anybody selling on eBay that is still using the Old Listing Tool!  I need to be able to explain that the old tool is still out there.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!

Re: New Listing Tool Will It Be Mandatory In Future?

I have been opted out 3 times over the last 6 months, so whoever told you that you can't opt out was IGNORANT of the facts.

I am afraid that today, I got the same ECS rep.

Re: New Listing Tool Will It Be Mandatory In Future?

AFAIK The new listing tools ARE bow mandatory. They won't switch you back and say there's no way they can. New sellers are being dumped into the "new" Quick Listing Tool as well.
