New Help Page format rollout ... does not work ...

I just went to find a link in the Help Pages for a thread and saw that a new format has rolled out ...

The subject I was looking for was "Active content" ... well, it is not on the "A" page and on the "P" page with a long list of "Policies" its not there either.  So I used the Search window typing in "Active content" ... please see pic no 2 ...

Re: New Help Page format rollout ... does not work ...

Hi mr_lincon
They moved from A to Z  to seller center & help center

https://www.ebay.com/help/home

Hit help and contact bottom of page, then when search comes up type in Active content
then move bottom, It's all new & better Smiley Happy

Don't use the old A to Z that information may be way more outdated then even some on this new help center

Sorry forgot to add if you don't want to search A to Z which isn't alway easy
just enter what your looking for in search (Active content ) and it will display articles

Mr. L., does the Links policy help?  I don't think "active content" was in the A-Z.

Re: New Help Page format rollout ... does not work ...

@labs118  Thanks for that but the Search window should still return the link to the section that applies, they spent a lot of time over the last year addressing the "Active content" issue but have apparently decided to drop that terminology and switch to "Links" ... I went back to the A-Z page, went to P and in glancing down through the list noticed "Phote-Linking Policy" ... so on a whim I clicked that and gues what?  The entire Links Policy comes up (2nd pic) ... this kind of thing reminds me of searching for things on National Treasure or Raiders of the Lost Ark ... or maybe Freddie the Fish and the Sunken Treasure ...

@*eponymous* LOL!  I just posted that I accidently found the Links Policy ... and no, why would they put Active Content any where on the Help Pages after spending more that a year talking about the changes they were making to it?

@mr_lincoln

I know you can't be surprised. eBay is the big glitch. Nothing new ever works right here. That's eBay's MO. Several days ago I tried clicking on selling coins, to cut and paste some info for someone and got...

Something went wrong. We're sorry.

If you want to start over, go to the homepage. If you're stuck, let us help you.

I said to myself...What's new. I tried typing in a keyword to see if that feature worked and I got the famous...

Page not responding message.

BTW...The A-Z topics pages looks like an older version to me.

@timemachine777  I wish I had a sceen shot of the previous version, it was nothing like that page I showed ... is it an older version?  If that page is pre-2015 then I wouldn't recognize it ...

I guess I just found it odd that after all the time that was spent advising Sellers about the change in Active content that they would at least re-direct any searches on inquiries for "active content" to the new "Links" designation.

You really expected the help pages to 'help'?

Kind of like when you click on contact us and they give you every other option BUT an easy way to "contact" them.

LOL!

The new page layout (see subsequent posts) is a disaster to be sure... but where in the world did you find that?  That first screenshot is about 10 years old, judging from the style... it still has stuff about the "About Me" page on it!

Re: New Help Page format rollout ... does not work ...

Oh wow @ted_200, now you are scaring me, is it really an old format?  Has my account been relegated to some old server sitting in a corner collecting dust?  Seriously, it just happened last night in to this AM ... I know from previous posts, Thursday is when eBay runs its server updates ... are they using more current servers getting them ready for all the new changes and pushing collectible Sellers like us to some obscure server that will eventually have its plugged pulled?  Followed by an email saying, sorry Mr. Seller Sir, your account has evaporated into electronic oblivian and is toast ... I have not been around long enough to know if it was old or not but there it is, big as life.  I thought it was new, especially when clicking a link and getting a new topic format with all the wasted space ... much like we STILL HAVE here on The Community, pic below of my entire screen.

I got dumped into that page also and my first thought was, "that color scheme is from long ago" and then I looked at the links on the left hand side .. Learning Center, Ebay University, Answer Center ... those are all from another ebay long ago in another time.  Wonder who managed to drag that back up?
