So, beginning tomorrow, another increase in our final value fee. Up from 12.55% to 15%. I have been selling on EBay for almost 10+ years and I think I'm going to have to call it quits. I know other selling sites are doing the same, but, I don't do this for a living - it is just a side thing for me and I am not willing to give EBay or anyone else that much of a cut into my profit. It used to be fun selling here and sales were much more frequent than they are now.

Get a life. She will obviously use all the benfencial local sites.
Facebook Marketplace. Facebook groups. Offer up. Craigslist. Next Door. & 5 miles.
all local sites you don't have to ship & you don't have to pay.
15% is extreme to raise considering it was JUST raised to 12% when they got rid of paypal!
When was this change! I never got a notice.........

They are referring to the FULL 15%! UP from 12% !!!!
15% off the total sale... plus shipping & taxes includes the total sale.
no-one is complaining about the .30 cents!
& there is no more paypal.

@pictureangel wrote:Except the fact Ebay JUST raised their priced to the 12% from 10% when they got rid of paypal, now I come to find out they are taking a WHOPPING 15% off jewelry category & clothing category. ABSURD. because they also take the total percentage even off taxes. It's horrendous. I can't believe they just raised prices to 12% now 15%
Many people have misunderstood this. So you aren't alone. When we entered into MP the FVF for most categories for those without stores was 10.2%. And what some seem to like to forget is that they also use to pay PayPal 2.9% plus a 30 cent transaction fee.
The fees in MP have NOT increased overall fees. The following numbers represent those that do not have a store and the fee rate for most common categories [not all].
Fees BEFORE going into MP
10.20% FVF + 2.9% PP fees = 13.10% plus 30 cent per transaction fee.
In MP the fees are:
10.20% FVF + 2.35% money processing fee paid to MP = 12.55% plus a 30 cent per transaction fee.
Starting August 2nd, PayPal is raising their fees, so they will be as follows:
10.20 Ebay FVF + 3.49 PP Fee = 13.69% plus .49 cent Per Transaction fee
PP is apparently offering different fees to different sellers, likely depending on size. From what I've seen it is between 2.59% and 3.49%.
As to the more recent FVF raises on Jewelry and Clothing categories. I got nothing for you on that one. I have to agree, it is a big jump of almost 2.5%.

@pictureangel wrote:Stop the nonsense. She wasn't complaining charges in general, but that it keeps increasing, it just increased to 12% now a whipping 15%. Has a right to complain. Many websites to sell locally. They should not be taking percentage off taxes too, it's already being paid. ......The shipping fees we are using to pay the shipping. Again shouldn't be taking percentage off.
Ebay raised the overall FVFs by 0.20% on April 1st of 2021. I don't remember when the 2.5% increase happened on Jewelry happened a while back if my memory serves me and the Clothing increase was more recent.
The 12.55% is NOT an increase but a consolidation of fees so there is just one, like I showed you in my previous post.

I'm unsure "relax" is the right word. I simply addressed their concerns, nothing more.

NO Nonsense going on here. I have paid $0 as a seller.
Without a buyer there is no sale
Without a sale there are no fees
Adjust your prices accordingly
Buyer pays all the fees.
Yes, it is that simple.
