Neutral feedback

We know that a neutral feedback doesn't effect the overall score, but this particular feedback really doesn't make sense. The sale was completed over a month ago. They left a neutral just because they hadn't opened it up yet? I'm assuming the went ahead and left feedback due to the reminders by ebay. Should I even bother asking for a revision? This appears to be the only neutral this person has left others, so they may not even know they will have to have me request a revision in order to change it to postive. I hate being picky over this, but it's like the small chip you have on the paint job that you just can't help to look at, you can barely see it, but you know it's there.

Re: Neutral feedback

Let it go. Unless the buyer is blocked they can buy again and maybe leave a negative feedback later on. Don't open a can of worms...

Re: Neutral feedback

Yea, this will most likely what we would need to do. It just perplexed me that they left a neutral feedback just because they hadn't opened thier package that was delivered to them over a month ago. I'm guessing the reminders got on thier nerves and just figured to put something in.

Re: Neutral feedback

Personally, I'd be so eager to understand it that I'd contact the buyer and ask why the left that particular feedback.

Re: Neutral feedback

Actually, you can probably have this removed.  Go to the Help & Contact tab at the top left of the Ebay page.  Type in defect, and next select "Request to remove defects".  The eligible defects will be listed.  Select the neutral feedback and reason why from the drop down menu.  Submit and your done.

Re: Neutral feedback

I have seen many neutrals essentially saying the same thing. It's clear they don't understand what feedback is for and how to use it. They may have felt pressured to leave feedback because of ebay's feedback reminder emails too.

I would block them so they can't purchase from you again.

Re: Neutral feedback

Don't bother contacting the buyer, it's not worth wasting one of your revision requests.  I think they're new & just confused abt how FB works.  I think there's a good chance that Ebay will remove that, here's how.   Go here:

https://www.ebay.com/sellerhelp

follow the instructions & tell them the user is new & doesn't seem to understand how FB works & that they are not rating the transaction.   Good luck.

Re: Neutral feedback

Problem is, they have been a user since 2009, so the new user thing might not fly.

Re: Neutral feedback

One of the common misconceptions about feedback is that some think they won't be able to complain or return an item after leaving a positive feedback.
That's one of the main reasons why people abstain from leaving any feedback.
Over the last year or so I have seen many people leaving neutrals saying they haven't opened or tried the item yet. I am guessing it's related to that misconception and ebay's feedback reminder emails.

Re: Neutral feedback

Try inexperienced rather than new.  They are a low number. Have they given out many feedbacks?

Re: Neutral feedback

Maybe, I don't know. They wouldn't be eligible for the money back garranttee anymore either because of it being over 30 days since they recieved it.

Re: Neutral feedback

Go ahead and block that buyer now.  Then I would put a response like you are still annoyed at this buyer " This would be a positive if the buyer had taken the time to open the package.  Please be more considerate to your future sellers."

Frankly, that neutral would not keep me from buying from you.  I can clearly tell that buyer is not sharp.

Re: Neutral feedback

I've had ebay remove "stupid feedback" for me before.

It's worth a try.

Re: Neutral feedback

But they could do a case with Paypal, if that's how they paid, or a chargeback on their credit card.
