I just received Neutral Feedback from a customer for a set of New Christmas lights. The item description included the word “mini” and had the length of 7ft long. I also took several pictures of the item.
The feedback states that when the seller (me) said “mini” I meant it. That it was smaller than she thought they’d be. 🫤 I’m not understanding the confusion. Saying what I meant was a good thing on an item description.. right??
Should I respond or let it go? Also, what could I have done to describe this item better than keyword and length measurements?
Thanks for any feedback!

There was probably nothing you could have done. Some people are just idiots. Frankly I LOL when her complaint was "When they say mini, mini is what you get."
Anybody who reads her comment will see the listing title and will know that the error was hers, especially for the next couple of months when they can click on the listing number and see that not only was the description accurate, but the gallery image of the product packaging clearly also shows "mini" and 7 feet length.
Well, maybe you could have included something in one of the images to show scale, so that a buyer who doesn't visualize feet and inches could see how the Grinches compare to something common like a coin.

After looking at the listing, I have the feeling that the buyer is complaining about the size of the lights themselves, not the length of the string of lights. You stated the size as "mini" when it might have been better to say that the lights are xx inches in length and the string itself is 7 feet long.
You can contact the buyer and ask if they would like to return these on your dime, although there is no requirement that you do so.

I'm guessing they may have been surprised by the size of the grinch light covers themselves. The packaging states mini, but I can't imagine that is referring to the 7ft long cord. I would want to know the size of the grinch or see something in a photo to show the size of those.
I personally would not respond unless you want to welcome them to return the lights.

Was this the Grinch lights? You could have measured the size of a Grinch and mentioned it. It sounds like the buyer was disappointed by the size of the lights, not the length of the string.

A neutral is just that...a neutral. It's really not going to affect your FB score one way or the other.
One the plus side, look how many others have given you rave reviews and are singing your praises as a great seller?!
Let it go. 😊
Happy Selling.

I agree. I have sold mini string lights and I always mention exactly how big the lights themselves are, not just how long the cord is. Never had a problem doing it that way.

Good idea! The next time I list. I’ll put a penny or something next to the light cover to show the size. Maybe that will help in the future. Thanks!

"Should I respond or let it go?"
I strongly suggest you simply let this one go.
I don't think I would even post a response to that neutral feedback, if I were you.
I took a look at your feedback page and noticed that another buyer of what appears to be the same product gave you a positive with a comment of "Good business." AND your positive feedback score is still 100%.
Your first neutral can sting, assuming this is your first neutral.
Neutrals have no effect on the seller's positive feedback percentage score. And after a year, nobody will ever be able to see it.
Try to rise above this situation.

That would help.
Just looking at the pics, it's kind of hard to tell what size they are.
Does the whole Grinch light up, or is it just a mini light?

Although it probably wouldn't be the smartest thing I've ever done, I'd be tempted to respond with, "yes, item was described as "mini" and as the buyer states, they are mini!"

I agree with others regarding the size of the grinch light covers themselves.
Thing is though, that feedback does not reflect on you as a seller in the least.

Since nothing forces a buyer to retract feedback, including refunds.
And since FB is not used by eBay to assess member accounts.
And since neutral FB does not affect your rating.
And since the FB makes the buyer look foolish, not you.
Move on.

No reply needed--the FB says it all. Don't worry about it.

However, your definition of "mini" and another's definition of the same word could be wildly different. It would have been a good idea for the OP to give the measurement of the light itself.
