Negative feedback

Recently sold an item I had inadvertently posted twice, not realizing I had done this a buyer attempted to purchase the item after it had been sold.. I tried to explain to the buyer that it was a mistake on my part and as a result he was given a full refund and apology.  Obviously he didn't feel that was enough... He went ahead to give me my first negative feedback, I do pride myself on running an honest store..

Is there anyway to dispute a negative feedback?

Negative feedback

Your buyer was entitled to leave his opinion of that non transaction, there is nothing to dispute.

In this situation, you have two potential courses of action. Firstly, you may try working with the buyer to resolve the issue and ask them to revise their feedback. Alternatively, you can escalate the matter by utilizing the help button and requesting eBay's assistance in having the feedback removed. Unfortunately, eBay's support might not always be comprehensive, but it's worth exploring these options to address the situation. I understand your frustration, and I hope a resolution can be reached.

I agree they can contact the buyer to see of they'd agree to a feedback revision, but I disagree with contacting ebay. There are no grounds for removal, and the OP will just run around in circles with support, getting nowhere.

You didn't get negged because you're dishonest, you got negged because you screwed up.

I would just own it and reply "Sorry, accidently sold it twice"

Just by reading the feedback I can tell this person is either old or doesn't understand how ebay works lol.  "I've never seen ebay make a mistake like that."  They definitely think ebay is like amazon with fulfillment centers and not just a bunch of people running their own stores.  I wouldn't worry; ebay might remove it for you if you can get ahold of someone.

It's worth bearing in mind that with the new "most relevant" feedback layout I don't even see that neg on the first page shown to me.

You accepted an offer when you didn't have any stock to sell. You could have paid attention and realized you already sold it, decline the offer, and remove the listing. If you were proactive, you could have caught it before all the hassle you caused yourself.

Buyer had every right to leave you a neg. No, eBay will not remove it. No, it does not affect your seller metrics. You should be doing better in the future if you do not want another red doughnut. Sellers with this attitude that somehow eBay should remove all their negatives - need to get a clue. If you are doing your job as a seller right, give outstanding customer service, and appreciate all your buyers, it's unlikely you will get negative feedback.

If you are a "get off my lawn" type of seller, you should prepare yourself for more of the same. You aren't accepting any blame for the neg, despite you admitting you listed it twice. Despite an offer being made and an opportunity to avoid all of this happening. You messed up, enjoy the neg for the next 12 months. You will either work really hard not to get more of them, or you will just blame everyone but yourself and start more threads complaining about bad buyers.....
