Such a lovely person. Here is the proof I tried to give the refund & sent him an email explaining I have funds in waiting from a recent sale & would try to refund again once those funds clear. I do not have a credit card to put on file to give the refund. I thought eBay would send the refund & take the money from my delayed funds & bank account. He lies twice in his negative. Says I ignored the refund request & never mailed the item. Both are untrue. Do you feel as I do - he will just keep the item when it arrives & not reimburse me? Dealing with this nonsense might just be the nail in the coffin for quitting eBay.

Thank you! I had no idea. Well, heck, @sakic92710. So you're POSITIVE that you don't want to get a CC?
Getting credit in Canada is a lot more difficult, you need to show proof of income, and they have to accept what you show as proof of income.
For instance, it's easy to rent an apartment with self-employment income (if you can back it with tax returns and bank statements). Getting a mortgage on the other hand, and mine was half the cost of rent, was difficult because they didn't care about my self-employment income or sales on ebay, or bookkeeping revenue, or rental income or anything else I did to supplement my income.

@sakic92710 wrote:When I want to initiate the refund, I cannot use pending funds & my bank account but when eBay steps in to refund, they can. Complete nonsense! There was no reason for eBay to get involved. I would refund. Just make it possible for sellers to use THEIR funds to do so!
That strike on your account for eBay stepping in will hurt you down the road a lot worse than the feedback will.

You are actually TOTALLY right about that... There is a possibility (if you can manage) to get a secured credit card to build credit, but getting a card from a bank is next to impossible without regular income on a T4 (Canadian version of a W2 I think it is...)
I had the same issue with my bank when I applied for a mortgage. My mortgage was HALF the cost of renting, yet they're telling me I can't afford it, and every source of income I had "didn't count" because it was self-employment earnings of some kind.
I see ads for Capital One on YouTube all the time when I watch videos, might be something to look into. That will at least resolve that problem for you.

I think it is that THEY felt they couldn't afford the liability for what they felt might be an unsecured loan. I ran into the same problem with my variable wages (I earned enough, but by revenue varied wildly). It's a crank system. 😠

My mortgage agent fought for me to get that mortgage, so I got it. They're the idiots, my 25 year mortgage is going to be full paid off in 7 years.

All your problems would be solved if you just moved to the US. 😉

I don't blame you.
McDonalds Canada has way better stuff than McDonalds US.

My carvings for McDonalds ended 2 decades ago. lol Still like some things but prefer Arby's. 🙂 Body changed with age & it didn't agree too much with Big Macs & chocolate shakes any more. I can get other things but I want shakes!! lol

Mine 2 debit cards to 2 different banks do. I know Bank of America doesn't.

Nah. He'd get homesick so quick, yearning for typical Canadian sights such as a Mountie in parade dress drinking maple syrup straight from the bottle while sitting on a moose in front of Tim Horton's. You know, just the ordinary everyday stuff of Life in the Great White North.

McDonalds Canada has a cranberry-orange muffin that is incredible!
Depending on who wins this upcoming election, I may just join @sakic92710 in Canada! LOL

Those don't exist in Canada. OP is in Canada.

Hi, maybe just certain banks. I am in Canada and my bank debit card says Visa on it and it can be used as a Visa credit card too.

No Tim Hortons igloos yet.
