Negative feedback does not show on a buyer

About a month ago a buyer made a bid and I accepted it.  The buyer then ghosted me.  After several emails without a reply I cancelled the order.  I also left negative feedback.  Out of curiosity I looked at the feedback for the buyer and there was none from me and they still show 100% positive.  Reading the first few feedbacks I see that this buyer has done this since the incident with me.  There is a "positive" feedback but the comments say NEGATIVE feedback but eBay does not permit leaving negative feedback for deadbeat bidders.  What's the story if my feedback had been shown the other seller may not have accepted the bid from this dishonest buyer.  Is this buyer potentially making bids on items as a prank but if eBay does not permit negative feedback no one would know?

Negative feedback does not show on a buyer

I definitely did not knowingly click on positive feedback.  I rarely sell and I think I had trouble finding where to give the feedback.  I think I may have just filled in the comments.  But I learned something from all of you.   Feedback related to buyers is of limited use.  I probably never looked at the feedback score on  a buyer because I always got paid right away.

We haven't been able to leave neg feedback since 2008, I believe.

If you know negative feedback is not allowed in a positive format for buyers, why would you do it? You get sanctioned for that, not worth it. Most likely the buyer reported it and had it removed.

Negative feedback does not show on a buyer

The ability to leave negatives for buyers was removed in 2008.  Leaving a negative comment with a green donut is a policy violation for the seller that will get them sanctioned or banned outright.

Sellers need to file unpaid cancellations and buyer reports if they want to get a buyer kicked off.  Sellers won't  see negative feedback "warnings", and buyers who look at their seller's feedback left won't want to do business with someone who violates Ebay policy.

The buyer is still here because other sellers aren't doing their job.

Negative feedback does not show on a buyer

It's impossible for a buyer to get a negative feedback. They can only receive positive. So if you think you gave the buyer a negative feedback, it's likely that you gave them a "false positive" meaning you left them a positive feedback with a negative comment... just like you said another seller did.

Leaving false positives for buyers are also a feedback violation. That's likely why you can't see your feedback that you left anymore. The buyer probably reported you for the violation so ebay removed that feedback from their page. It's likely that this buyer would do that again to the other false positive you see.

Negative feedback does not show on a buyer

Sellers are not allowed by policy to leave negative feedback for buyers, it's been that way for many years. Unfortunately in years past sellers were using feedback as a way to get even with buyers so that was taken away. If you leave a negative comment under a positive again you may end up with restrictions to your selling account. Your best solution is to allow the four days of non payment to run out. That will auto cancel the transaction, get your fees refunded, and leaves a strike on the buyers account. That buyer will end up becoming restricted over time. Best of luck to you....

You’re actually not supposed to do that. You can’t leave negative comments under positive feedback. eBay took away leaving negative feedback for buyers due to revenge.

And what option did you use to cancel the transaction? You should have filed an uid.

@fouram

Unfortunately, it IS still on your buyer's feedback profile because it's still showing on your own feedback left for others. But you probably didn't realize because it's showing as a positive with a green +.

The sale was a month ago. Why are you stalking the buyer?

As others said, the FB you left is still there and if it gets reported to eBay you'll get a policy violation on your account.

Set up your blocks on this page to avoid buyers with 2+ unpaid item strikes in the last year.

The buyer should report the feedback and you'd get hit with a feedback policy violation.

Have a great day.
