Need suggestions for a parts inventory program to track purchase/sales of boat motor parts.

Hello. We need a parts inventory program to track purchase/sales of boat motor parts. In a perfect world, it would track purchases and sales and adjust the totals. What do ebayers like to use for this?

a lot of that answer depends on money.

Snap on has a great program, but it's a lot of money.

Excel can be configured to do almost anything, if you have the knowledge, and it's a lot less money.

You are looking for something more like a car dealer uses-you might try asking a couple what they use.

The eBay software lets you enter a starting quantity and deducts from that as you sell.

Having lived through the era of computers not talking to each other, at all, I am accustomed to entering things into a Notepad file separated by commas or semi colons. Later I can look at the file or open it with a spreadsheet to sort it.

The Awaiting Shipment screen has a 12 digit number that looks like 01-23456-78901.
If you hover your mouse over that, your can see the Legacy Order Number, which is 26463 for me today.

     Besides the money the one other thing I would add would be it depends on how much inventory you are talking about. There is a significant difference between a mom and pop shop and Amazon's distribution centers. 

     I would suggest Googling inventory management software and take a look at the features and capabilities of the various software packages along with the cost and see which one may best serve your needs.

     No way I would ever let or trust eBay to handle my inventory. The have WAY to many "glitches" amongst other reasons I would never give them control over that. At some point I suspect they will begin to charge you for that "service".

eBay allows you a customer skew, which most of us use for inventory location and sometimes other info.  I am unaware of anything that works in tandem of eBay to track barcodes, which is the type of inventory software you need if you are as large a company as you elude to. 

I know shopify has many add on's. That may be where you want to start your search. Most of us are smaller sellers and do not use software like that. If you are a larger seller, you may want to use shopify/inkfrog and other programs for your business. Inkfrog ties into eBay, but that is a listing software. 

Not being a large ecommerce business, I can't offer a solid suggestion. But the ones I mentioned are ones some of the larger companies use.
