Okay so I have this ring. It's 18k white gold with diamonds and what tests to be red spinel in the center. The hallmarks are 750, R104, and what ever this name is. I have tried every combination of letters and everything to find out who this is and how exactly it's spelled. It looks like Ritoiré or Rifoiré to me but every search comes up empty. Can someone please help me with who made this and it's value or something

It is solid 18k gold because we sized it at my store and tested it. I know it's gold I'm not worried about that I'm wondering about the maker nothing else really

I know that I'm not asked if it's gold I'm asking about the makers mark

Looks like "LeLoire" or "LeLoise", but a quick google search finds nothing quite like that. Good luck!

Ive sold tons of antique and modern rings both gold and silver (ouch at identifying those hallmarks) and one thing I have learned for almost certain is that when you can read the letters in a name and nobody knows who it is, then its highly likely that its a custom local jeweler.......which gives no grand credence to design or brand. While this isnt a guarantee, its highly likely that this isnt akin to cardier et al if you get my drift.
As for the other marks 750 does equal 18kt so long as its not plated which you say you tested on sizing so gtg there. The R104 I would make a strong wager is suggesting that the main stone is Ruby and weighs 1.04 carats. This if accurate also does not signify that the stone is natural or lab created. Sorry I couldnt be of more help.

It looks like Ritoiré

I know I won't be much help here, but that word is French and it means territory.

I'm going with "starts with an L" also but quick googling of a couple wags didn't produce anything. I can't see the little letters well enough (I'm old) even with a magnifying glass (I'm really old). Maybe I'll try my needlework coke bottle glasses next...

You could ask this question in the Jewelry & Gemstones Board Group and see what the experts lurking there have to say.

Also there are several pinned threads with links to Hallmark References so check those out too.

Cant help you with the name, but that R may just be a stamp for rhodium plating..just a protective coating to keep the metal shiny and prevent tarnish..ive seen it before when I was selling fine jewelry.
