A buyer sent payment to the wrong paypal email adress. She was refunded 7 days later. She sent me several messages about undergoing medical treatment and that she would pay when she got the refund. I being the kind person that I am decided to go ahead and ship the item. Decision based on there being such good communication. and fab feedback rating. I have never done this before. I even included a bonus item since she was claiming to be ill. Now of course it's been 3 weeks I have not been paid and she is not responding to my messages. Is there any recourse or do I just have to suck it up 😞 Paypal can't help because the money went to aonother email not mine. Any suggestions appreciated.

I'm sorry this happened but sad to say you'll probably never be paid . Since the buyer has already recieved her item there's no incentive for her to send payment . E bay can't force her to pay either . Even though you shipped without being paid out of kindness it doesn't mean the buyer will respond in the same way. Theres always hope the buyer will eventually do the right thing but for now just accept the true value in this transaction was in its learning experience . Tulips

Yep, you've been conned.........you sent it voluntarily........
lst question..........how did she send it to the "wrong" email address? If she bought on ebay, why would she have to use an email address at all?

Maybe she conned you, maybe she's too ill to pay. Regardless of the reason for nonpayment, there's nothing you can do about it.

FYI, all buyers have lovely 100% positive feedback because it's simply not possible for a seller to leave a neutral or negative rating for a buyer. Leaving a positive rating with a negative comment text is a policy violation and the buyer can get it removed.

Questions:
1- How do you know she sent payment to another email address?
2- How do you know she was refunded?
3- Did you get a notification of being paid at any time?
Something happened to me 6 months ago or so. I had this buyer telling me he-she had a burning incident at home, so they needed the products I was selling for their kids. They asked me to lower it to exactly $xxx from $200 (almost a 35% discount) they had in their bank account. I obliged, sold them the items.
I sent an amicable message asking them if their kids were happy to have their thigs back so they could use them for school purposes or something like that. I asked them to leave a feedback.
Still waiting for it.

when I say email address I mean the email used to get paid on paypal. It was done through paypal

Thanks tulip! this is the first time I know better than to do this. I am a kind person and I try to give people the benefit of a doubt. If she is ill then I did a good thing and will think of it as a gift I guess. If not I like to think there is a karma train coming her way.

Remember. When you buy someting and pay using Paypal, the payment is sent to the registered email address of the seller. There's no "wrong e address" at all. If she told you that, then it is hearsay.
I know you are like me, always favoring people begging for something. But in this case, you may have been conned.

Dont look good. Sorry to hear that they probably got you. If they asked for your pay pal info , its a common scam. also its very common for scammers to use the im ill card. They use the kindness most of us have against us, wich is just down right dirty. Chalk it up as a learning curve. Go ahead and report to ebay. Best regards

Treat eBay like a busines; the income from that business is what you use to support your family. Some buyers want you to act like a social service agency and in this instance you did just that.
FYI, just what did you send to her/him?

There is NO reason a buyer should go to pay pal to pay for an item bought on ebay................they have the invoice and can pay with the click of one button........
I am assuming you do have the right payment email in the listing.
If they ask for your paypal account to pay you, it's a scam....... Actually, if it were to really happen, you would probably be liable to Ebay for taking a transaction off the site.

It sounds like the seller had the wrong paypal address on their listing which resulted in payment going to the wrong account, it does not sound like an off-ebay sale. the scammers that ask for a paypal invoice do not typically communicate with the seller post-scam.
