NO SALES

Well, I've just read a lot of posts and it seems that no one is selling anything including me!  Are the sellers that promote their items the only ones making sales????  I don't make much as it is because eBay charges too much but if I promoted my items, I would make zero after fees and shipping.  Everyone's items should be promoted with the fee's that are charged !  I did try and promote my items once but sold nothing.  I have two eBay sites and zero sales in two weeks! I can't even sell anything for .99 cents.  I do not believe that most of my items are visible.  I have little to no views.  What is going on????

I am the same with two stores and nothing has sold!  I have coupons, sale, discount for more than one item am top rated plus and nothing! I asked ebay if I can get an invite to upgrade my store as others sellers have received but she looked at my account and said I dont qualify!!! I asked how can I qualify.... she answered you dont!!! I feel my account must be flagged in some way for her to say no after looking at my account!  from august 1 my promoted listings dropped and I increased %... im rambling but as you see ive tried everything!!

The only ebay ads I hear are for car parts!  they should have had a back to school advert ... every chance they can to beat competition as there is a lot now!!!

we only have to look at traffic and see how promotions are going and when they are flat with every possible give away, then you know something stinks!!

Same here and many of us have a lot invested in ebay! we do everything asked of us and then we are no longer visible! we know which of our items are hot or fast sellers... when they dont get seen, something is broken!!

I would agree that shipping charges are a major factor.   My sales have been poor for months.  However, the past few months I've been selling significantly more through Facebook and Next Door to local buyers since there aren't any seller fees,  which means I can reduce the price,  the buyers aren't subject to state sales taxes, and I don't have to ship.  The only downside is the constant answering of questions about the items availability, and no follow through afterwards.  You also have to deal with people trying to run their fraud scams, but they are fairly easy to spot.

Try paying bill's with that take especially when you split it with another person who went in on the inventory with you. PIDDLY>ow many views my almost 500 items have.? I am up year over year. Marketplace changes, what is good and bad changes, prices change. You have to adapt.

Since you put your numbers out here I have a question.  If you look at your sold listings there is no way that adds up to $8,900 usd.  I'm only being curious:  How are you tallying your total sales?

Nevermind.  I thought you were saying or indicating $8,724 usd was your sales for the time period of July 23 to August 22nd.  Instead, the $8,724 is your sales for the year.  Ok, I got it.

Buyers are still buying that T Shirt, that can of Paint, that bottle of Lotion, that Pair of Socks, that Alternator.. from someone.

Yes, GMV is down, but 2% means if you sold $100,000 worth of sales last year and this year you are down to $98,000- you are NOT HERE complaining. 

Down 7%? So you're down to $93000. You are still NOT HERE. 

If you are down 30, 40 60%- it's NOT the Site. 

It's NOT the economy

It IS what you are selling and/or how much you want for it. 

Best to start finding 'other things' to sell.
