So I get a message saying I no longer qualify for Top Rated status. I am told to look at a dashboard to see what might be improved. I find:
Rating: Above Standard
Transaction defects: 0%
Late shipment: 0%
Cases closed without seller resolution: 0%
Return rate: 0%
So, what am I supposed to improve? I'd say I am a paragon of eBaying virtue at this point. My total sales over about 12 years is approx $210,000. My guess is that this may have something to do with the catastrophic drop in sales we all experienced in May, after the Good Till Cancelled fiasco. Or it is just a scam to deprive us of a discount. The irony is that my sales are up. I hit $100 today for the first time in a couple months.
This reminds me of when they took away the Power Seller rating be demanding all items be shipped the same day, which is ridiculous. Most sellers just had to let it go. I fear we have to just let Top Rated status go too.

Which one am I looking at? Both? I am "above average" in both.
No problem, just checking. Some people have come to these boards thinking they have lost TRS status, when in fact they are just projected to lose TRS status.
The issue is probably volume of sales
Your dashboard will tell you whether you have met the TRS sales volume requirements or not.
and lack of same-day shipping, which is not practical.
Same-day shipping is not a requirement of TRS. I have been a TRS since hte program began and have always had 3-day shipping.

Howdy, neighbor! Nice to see another Mississippi seller here ![]()
To get the TRS plus designation for your listings, you have to offer same or one day shipping and free (seller paid) returns. The listings of yours that I looked at have buyer paid returns.

Hi Darrell
Is it possible that it could be that either your late shipment rate is greater than 3% (TRS requirement), or tracking uploaded and validated by your carrier within your stated handling time (Maximum percentage of transactions where tracking wasn't uploaded on time and/or validated) which can be no greater than 5% (TRS Requirement)?

Give your listings the Top Rated Plus seal
As a Top Rated seller, you can qualify for a Top Rated Plus seal and exclusive benefits when your listings offer the following services
Same or one-business-day handling, and
A 30-day or longer free return period with money back option.
You can choose to offer these in some or all listings. For listings that qualify, you earn the following benefits
The Top Rated Plus seal, displayed prominently in search results and the listing description.
A 10% discount on final value fees.

What other benefit do I still have exactly? I must be missing something here.
Yes, that is what I said. The ONLY benefits of TRS+ is the discount and the badge.
All the other benefits are because you are TRS. You do not have to have one single listing qualify for TRS+ to retain your TRS status and its benefits.
TRS status gives you a boost in the search returns, added insurance on Priority mail items and the badge on you FB page. I think there are some additional discounts on certain types of shipping, but I'm not sure about that as I ship only with USPS.

After looking high and low for why my top rated seller status vanished, and it was not on the page eBay directed me to for answers, it turns out that eBay tanking my sales with their good till cancelled changes and the fact nothing has sold since then until a couple of small things this month, my 12 month sales dollars dropped below the allowed standard.
Great - eBay screws up sales and then downgrades me for THEIR poor performance.
Oh well. That probably isn't going to change and may get worse with the status drop. Way to go eBay! NOT

I think you may be correct when you said "or it is just a scam to deprive us of a discount."
