I have been selling for over 20 years and what started out as easy to sell is becoming a daily nightmare. I don't seem to have a problem and neither do my buyers, but ebay is constantly adding problems where none exist. I list an item with every detail I can think of and still ebay says there are things to add to my listings, INCLUDING ONES THAT ARE ALREADY THERE! Now there are messages that say "SOON TO BE REQUIRED ITEM SPECIFICS"!!! I am getting really disgusted and it is taking all of the enjoyment out of selling for me. My advise to ebay is, if you don't want to lose Sellers on your site, mind your own business and let the Sellers do their thing, unless they ask for it! DON'T FIX WHAT ISN'T BROKEN.

Yes, but e-Bay put the item specifics back - most of ours are back today. Not happy that we still have to *tweak* the listings and I agree with you, would have been best to not have this issue at all. But with over 800 listings for us to still revise, I was pretty happy today when the listing details were back in our listings. Especially bundles and lots.

Um, I didn't get anything back. As of 3 seconds ago, mine (Action Figures) are clearing themselves after I update the 45 fields required, then eBay is "putting them back" as manually added fields that I have to delete - which has only made matters much worse. What did you get back?

Item specifics has to be among ebays stupidest idea. Most of us put enough info in the description
that item specifics is redundant.

I imagine they sit around in a circle twerk in there suits and get excited by terrorizing us.
I get sick to my stomach every time i go to list here anymore. I hate it. Next year I will be done.

You would not say that if you understood the purpose of Item Specifics.
IS were not needed back in the days when eBay had 5 - 8 Million listings (now about 1.5 BILLION) and there was no Google. These days they are critical to getting found in onsite or offsite search.

At least with on-site, I think this is probably because they messed up their search engine (which had been great and now is as bad as the River's).

eBay seems to be going downhill every day. I’ve been a seller and buyer for about 22 years. I had a buyer try to pull the old scam, “ I’ll keep the item but I want money back cause I don’t like it”. I contacted buyer and said no partial refunds. Please return and I will refund you 100% + extra shipping. Of course he had contacted eBay asking for a refund first thing. Ok fine. eBay told me he will have to return item for any refund. The date was to be 5/14/21. On 5/16/21 I was informed that they were sending buyer full purchase price. 150.00 dollars. He still has the item! Never sent to me! I’m out the money and item!
I have complained to eBay and may expect my 150.00 back.? Really! We’ll see, where is this company going next?

I noticed this. Super annoying and not only that, but some of the feilds they added are just not applciable and don't have the option to be "not applicable". Never lets me get a 100% listing and that kills people who want things to look 100%.

im looking to move off here this is a joke over priced fees and they tell you how to run your sales in the last 30 days i seen a 44 percent drop in sales because i will not do the FREE RETURN 30 DAY POLICY
this just like face book and twitter

It's no secret eBay regards sellers that leave, as replaceable

I agree this has become a nightmare. Why in the world do I have to fill in the title of a book in a "required" Book Title field when it is in the listing title? And why is "author" required when there is none or the book is a collection by different authors?
Even worse is listing sports items - where "player" is a recommended item specific - the vast majority of my sports collectibles are teams - not players. For NASCAR you get both driver and player fields.
And I haven't even looked at all the recommended item specifics on my other two accounts - some have 7 or 8 specifics recommended.
It seems that the more eBay monkeys with things like item specifics - the fewer items sell.

Agree 100% with you. I believe everyone is going through this. What ticks me off is that when it says you need to update 2 item specifics and you go into that part of the form, everything is blank. It takes out what we have already entered. They are threatening to end our listings but I don't see that happening. If it weren't for us, they would not make any money. I have over 1000 listings to update. This is totally ridiculous.
