Unwelcomed surprise. The ability to search for newly listed is gone. Categories are gone from the side to a drop down menu. Is this just a test on a select few or are all stores downgraded?

Hmmmmmm......
It is different. Huh?
Wonder why they chose it this way? Still a work in progress??

Store changes were announced in the Fall Update, although I don't recall any specifics about this format change. It looks to me like this is , in part, tied to making this Phone friendly.

I have a shop by category drop-down above the All Items. When I click into one of the categories it brings up that category, plus the old style side bar, and from then on in it's the old style side bar. I don't have subcategories so that might be the reason.

It's the "enhanced" store experience. OMG.
The drop-down box for store categories is not obvious; I think this will make stores more difficult to navigate. I couldn't even find my categories when I first looked at the page. Also, my store banner only appears on the first page of the store. It's missing when I go to a category page. The full text of my "about us" blurb no longer appears on the store page. It's only one short paragraph, but you have to click to read the whole thing. 😩
Wonder what they'll mess up next?

This is awful, it is like the are going backwards! What is the point of paying for a store if our customers cannot see our new items right away or categories! Yes, you can scroll down and hit "all" for the old format, but in my experience, customers barely read the description, they are not going to search for a button hidden at the bottom of the page!

Just one more extra step to take to get the same information. Ebay is good at that.

Oh, I actually like this. Much, much less cluttered, and the images are larger and easier to see from the main store page without having to click into the listing itself. That's a big bonus, I think-- it makes for much easier browsing.

It's like shopping for meat at the grocery store, I have to take my glasses off and see if what I'm seeing is an optical illusion. I'm glad it wasn't just me, a small consolation.

"consolation" was oddly not the first word that came to mind! 😁
It is "different". *sigh*

Put the categories BACK on the side of my store!
Drop down box is not obvious, and I can barely read the categories! I want someone to come to my store and IMMEDIATELY see the categories of doll I carry and be able to scan that.
Awful update. Yes, the larger images are nicer, but that is the ONLY thing I like. Would be willing to go back to the smaller images if you put my created categories BACK.

Wait. and you don't show ALL OF MY LISTINGS to the customers in MY STORE without them pushing a "See More" button on the BOTTOM of the page?
No. This is not OK or useful for me or my buyers.
AND, further, you have messed up the ORDER that my items are being shown to MY buyers. I want the items shown with newest FIRST, or that option way at the top of the page.
This is awful and not what I am paying for.

So it gets worse and worse, once you find and use the search bar in the store....it goes away and the upper search bar (that was previously used for ALLLLLLLL of Ebay) is now your search bar for your store.
So when a customer finds or does not find an item in my store and wants to search something else, they are stuck in my store, with no other way of searching anything else in ebay?
Who made this update...and why would you change these things right before our BIGGEST SELLING TIME OF THE YEAR!!!

Agree with other posters who mentioned this seems designed for small screens / smart phone only. There is plenty of room to show more information without clicking on ...more buttons and category drop downs
This IS the 21st century, right? I don't know a a single other good e-commerce site that does not have 2 or more well designed display formats depending on the size of the screen (number of pixels wide). It is industry standard to have at least 2 device layouts and there are tons of programming tools to make this easy for the programmer to support multiple devices (look up MVC). I guess eBay did not get the message on this.
Once you manage to cross the barrier to actually get a buyer to look at your store, they should be able to see as much as possible without clicking or dropping down. Not a well designed change IMO.
