Just saw the NEW Listing page layout show up on my account ... ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I zoomed out to get more of it on one screen just as an overall shot of it. Very large main item pic, details to purchase & Seller info over on the right.

@siamjane8 wrote:Looks like they picked the design a week ago unless I'm just still just in a test?....... So stupid. There are actually MORE ads and promoted listings before the item description! Looks like the only two change was the picture display and moving the sellers info to the right of the screen on a PC.... Then PL, PL,PL, and more PL. I was trying to do more shopping on eBay this past month and it proved to be more frustrating because it's nearly impossible to find the description in a clutter of promoted listing distractions.
Making it harder to make a purchase should not be the goal but you succeeded with these changes eBay- thanks.
I guess we are all in for less sales again in 2024. At this point I just wish someone would buy eBay and clean house and replace with people that have any online retail experience and web design know-how.....
@siamjane8 who knows if they have finally settled on a design or are still testing? Only eBay and given the way things usually go around here, I'm not holding my breath for an actual announcement to make it official.
It's been 9 months of testing at this point and honestly part of me wonders if they won't just keep it ambiguous for the foreseeable future to give themselves wiggle room.
It's certainly convenient that it allows them to continue to use the excuse of "we're still testing" to explain why they haven't followed through on their original promise to "bring critical information like Item specifics and seller description higher up on the page before any modules that show other items & ads."

Here is the layout that I see when I search and find an item ...

Thanks @mr_lincoln ! That looks like the layout I've been seeing in both Firefox and Chrome for a couple months now.
Unfortunately, instead of doing what they promised with moving IS and Description above ads, this layout actually appears to push the IS and Description even further down the page.

their original promise to "bring critical information like Item specifics and seller description higher up on the page before any modules that show other items & ads."
I think we can probably put that promise in the "Unfulfilled Promises" folder, along with the 2.5% FVF for Social Media Referral Sales.
I'd like to be proven wrong on that, but I don't see much indication that ebay is going to provide either one of those.

According to this post, we should see the redesign's first phase now or soon. I am not seeing it yet, however.

Thanks @mcdougle4248 !
I don't suppose they gave any actual explanation for why they reneged on the part about moving the description above ads did they? And I'm guessing this is in the special boards only accessible to certain members?
Not at all surprised but it just baffles me they think that is in any way acceptable. *sigh*

It looks like the "description" will move up and to the right sometime next year. Other than the I post shared, I have not seen any actual explanation.
There is a view item redesign "group" here on the boards. It started towards the end of March. I simply asked to join the group back then and was accepted immediately. Honestly, we have not received all that much information over the months. There were long periods without any posts from the team.

It looks like the original post I used to access the group is pinned on the Buyer board here:

You are more than welcome and you are also correct, IS and Description have been pushed down the page past several rows of Sponsored listings and Conditions have to be expanded to read the entire section.
Not sure where they stuck TRS indication but suffice it to say it is not prominent.
My opinion on one of their last page changes (maybe over a year ago) was they continue to make listings look as generic as possible and ALL like an eBay product and NOT an individual Seller's item. They can deemphasize certain information by moving it, using thinner and smaller text & font sizes, etc. so the "eye" catches other things instead like wider main pic area and wider blue Buy or Bid buttons.

Thanks again! So technically that will be "above the ads" but still require clicking to view full description, as we feared back in August. ☹️
This is at least a little better than the way they were testing then but still does not address sellers' main complaint on this issue, in my opinion.

@my-cottage-books-and-antiques it looks like eBay is going to go with the "technicality" on this one - from @mcdougle4248 's screenshots apparently the plan is to eventually have a smaller description summary above the ads that you have to click on to view the full thing, similar to the app experience.
