NEED to turn of auto relist permanently

A lot of my items as of late are auto relisting.  And any instructions I find to turn it off are from 2014 and its to turn it off on all of them manually which you can only do in the advanced seller format.  So if they were listed using the quick tool(which all mine are because I am helping my gradparents list things and frankly there is no need for us to use the advanced tool) then you cannot turn it off.  This is becoming very frustrating and becoming a threat to our number of free listings which we use sparingly.  It seems like they just enforced the automatic relist on everything recently.  I noticed today while listing something that under the auction duration(7 days 10 days...) choice using the quick tool it just randomly says "If your item doesn't sell, we'll relist it up to 8 times."  Which I am NOT happy with.  But there is no corresponding box to uncheck with that statement.  Its like I have no choice to turn that off.

I have also heard if you call the ebay helpline they can turn it off on their end (again info from a forum post in 2014) but I have yet to be able to try that since I am helping my grandparents to sell things on their ebay so they are the ones that need to authorize that.  We will be trying that shortly though because this is becoming frustrating.  Any help or ideas you have will be appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

NEED to turn of auto relist permanently

I just had items relist that I did not want relisted. I did call ebay as I had 19 more items ending today and I did not want them to auto relist. What I was told to do was to click on the item then on the upper left hit "revise item" then scroll down to Selling Details then under that scoll down to RETURN OPTIONS and the last sentence there with a box states "AUTOMATICALLY RELIST THIS ITEM UP TO 8 TIMES IF IT DOES NOT SELL". UNCHECK THAT BOX! Then go down to the bottom of the page and update the listing. I was told if this is done to all the listings it will not happen automatically next time. When listing an item make sure that box stays unchecked. I understand that somehow this happened without my deliberately checking it. I do believe ebay understands this is a problem for many sellers. I was given an apology and thanked for my understanding. The ebay person helped me go through my listings and change them all. The fact it took 45b minutes for the person to call back from the help center is probably because so many people are calling about this snafu.

This is something that Ebay added a couple of years ago to "help: newer sellers.  So if you are new and you use the quick entry version of the listing tool then this happens automatically and I do not believe there is a place to turn it off.  But if you click and change to advanced version of the listing tool, it gives you many additional options one of which I believe is the ability to turn off the automatic relist.

I am still using Turbo Lister as Ebay is still supporting it until they are able to find a way to infuse the same abilities into Sellers hub so I do not see the new listing screens at all, so I am going only by what i have read on the boards.  I hope this is helpful to you.

You could always change any listings not in the 'supported 14 day returns' categories to 14 days returns and that should stop them from relisting automatically come August.
Reality is the leading cause of stress.

NEED to turn of auto relist permanently

This started last month, and dozens of complaints have been posted about it, including mine. I can't post to the Q & A board, so if anyone who is reading this can, please share this information with those who ask.

Here's what worked for me: Near the top right of the new version of Selling Overview page, click on the link that says Switch to Classic View. After doing so, you'll see under the "Active Selling" heading that there are sub-headings for Views/Watchers, Bids, Price, Time Left and Actions. Under Actions, the two links are Sell Similar and More Actions. Click on More Actions. The last selection should be to turn off Auto Relist. When you click on that, it should turn off Auto Relist for the specific item after a few seconds.

This didn't work for 2 of my 15 items, so I selected to end the auction for each one a minute early to avoid auto relist.

What I'd like to see is Auto Relist not be turned on automatically whenever an item is listed. If that can't be done, I'd prefer an option to turn it off for all listings. Meanwhile, I'm leaving the Classic View on.

If your listings are GTC (good til cancelled) then the only way to stop the auto relist is to end them.  You can then relist them as 30 days fixed price if you want.

You can not edit out GTC and change it to 30 days.  You have to end them and relist the new way you want them to be listed.

Good Luck Selling!

NEED to turn of auto relist permanently

Prior to the recent changes the auto relist was 2 or 3 or 4 times depending on the category.  That was cool and I used that option from time to time for fixed listings.  Now they have changed it to relist 8 or 9 times.  No way.  If I have something up for that long there are other issues I need to address.   Wish we had an option to HOW MANY TIMES something would relist but I'm sure that is asking too much.  😞

There is not a box to uncheck any longer. You can not use the quick list feature or the eBay app to list if you do not want it to auto relist.

They took the box away. Confirmed via a phone call, you can not use the the eBay quick list you must use advance listing if you do not want items to auto relist. The eBay app only allows you to quick list. You must sign into your account via the classic internet way and go to advance selling.

I figured that out after several things got relisted. I am not happy with this happening now. I use my app all the time and now I have to take extra steps to turn it off on my PC. Aggravating!!

NEED to turn of auto relist permanently

My auctions are still being relisted.  No matter what I do ,  there is nothing to to click cancel or do NOT relist.  The funny thing is that I am NOT being charged at all!   I got 100 free listings  and that number has not budged since I wrote an ad 2 days ago.   It's not taking them from my original 50 either.

Now there is something that says  ADD AUTOMATION    and also REMOVE AUTOMATION.  I tried removing the automation and it's a dead end.  Something comes up about a failure to connect to ebay due to disabling cookies.  I swear, 20 years on ebay and NOT the SOBs have to screw up the way sellers list items.

In the meantime, I can't list because I don't want to get charged .   I have about 40 listings ending today and I think all of them will relist.   Sure I can end them but how do I know that if I relist as fixed priced, they won't relist?

NEED to turn of auto relist permanently

So I've been an original Ebay veteran seller since 1997, and i have NEVER EVER had an issue with relisting happening without my authorization until this past month.  This is not right to force sellers to use laptops to list their items verses the new age use of the Ebay app on their phones.  I only use the phone to list, and being FORCED TO ACCEPT THE TERMS OF EBAY RELISTING MY ITEM UNLESS I MANUALLY ADJUST THE RELIST TOGGLE IS UNACCEPTABLE.  Especially to large volume sellers.  SALES WILL GO DOWN ON EBAY'S END.  SELLERS WILL TURN TO OTHER OPTIONS MORE ACCOMODATING.  I have sat on the phone waiting to speak to someone to no avail.  Someone within Ebay created the idea of auto relisting seller's items to boost their listing fees and it's not going to be popular.

I am not using the Quick list or any type of any different platform than I always have used either.  This is something new & adventurous that was taken on in the marketing department & it needs to be squashed before a group forms with a class action lawsuit.

Agree 100%--THIS NEEDS TO END.  How do we express our unhappiness to ebay--do they ever monitor these boards?

You have to turn off each one manually it auti relist for 8 times unless you deselect it. Go to activie listings all the way on the right tapp more options and turn it off. Sucks. Also make an offer is defaulted to on.
