N95 Face Masks ( and others ) Are Getting Listed FASTER than I Can Report Them !

Why can't Ebay hire just 3 temporary employees ( 1 employee on an 8 hour shift, 7 days a week  )  from a Temporary Employment Agency to delete these listings as soon as they get listed ?

Obviously, Trust and Safety cannot keep on top of the problem.

I have also noticed non-marked face masks being sold as "brand name" face masks.

I have also noticed non-marked face masks being sold as "N95" grade face masks.

I have also noticed that after a seller gets a face mask listing deleted for non-compliance, 10 minutes later, the SAME SELLER re-lists the SAME item !

Why are their no procedures in place to identify these types of sellers, and then restrict their selling account when they get caught re-listing the same exact item again ?

This is a total FAIL by the Trust and Safety Department !

To their credit, they have taken down about 25,000 listings after the ban was announced, but they have not been effective in stopping new items from being listed, and they have not been effective in restricting selling accounts for repeat violators of the policy.

I have reported several hundred face mask violations over just this last week ..... and now I am tired of it.

It is Trust and Safety's responsibility to ensure that this wide spread and on-going abuse of Ebay's ban on face masks ( and other banned items ) is stopped with more effective procedures and with WAY more active involvement in monitoring the 2 simple searches above.

I am done reporting violations.

I am tired of doing it.

I did my part to help the community.

I  have been reporting gouging for hand sanitizers, hand washes, masks, gloves,  and surface disinfectants.  I even sent a message to eBay through Facebook.

I look forward to ebay's answer to this problem.  I reported a few dozen one evening, refreshed the page and there were almost twice as many listings! 

And it's surprising how many of the listings are "sponsored". They all come up one after another.

You wouldn't think it would be so hard to catch them.

but honestly- if you run an auction on a mask or hand sanitizer, hell-even a high priced buy it now item.... and somebody buys it. its because they want it ,,and they are ok on paying that price...hell fire after seeing the news with long lines at stores just to see empty shelves ,  maybe the best option is to buy it on ebay...at least its shipped to home in case you are quarentined ..BUT;  No matter what, the BUYER should be able to purchase the product they choose for the price that the BUYER themselves agrees to pay. ebay as a company makes plenty of$$ either way. AND the BUYER is happy to pay the price -or they dont need to buy it - its not rocket science.  Right now there are folks who want to buy products, they drive to a retailer and stand in line for hours risking their own health just to find bare shelves and higher prices.. buyers arent stupid-let them decide for themselves

Wow! I just saw one seller had sold nearly $600 worth of wipes, some at $50 a listing!! That is so wrong!!! What can be done to sellers like this?? Same seller still has more wipes listed right now!

So stop trying. It's not your job. And it probably didn't help as much as you thought. 

BTW, eBay policy does not even say that they WILL remove the listings. It only says they COULD remove the listings:

I agree!  Going to the store is not worth the headache!!  I would much rather purchase on Ebay or another online site or store.  There's a limit to what I will pay, but I have no problem paying a little bit more to not have to go out and get it, watch people fight in the stores, drive around for a parking spot, stand in line and listen to kids screaming and crying only to find out the store is out of stock.  Guess what, you do not have to pay for something you don't want to.  I know people think it's the resellers out there taking up everything, but it's literally everyone taking everything.  I only reported one person and I shouldn't have even done that because I felt like a 9 year old tattle tale, but it was $1500 for Masks and Sanitizer.  Ironically I do see that the sponsored ones seem to not get taken down, but I don't even care anymore.  I look at it like this, no one is forcing you to buy anything, but I am being forced not to buy things I want or need.  Going to Walmart when there isn't a crisis going on makes me want to pull my hair out.

Never reported listings before. I see where to do it but what categories would you select for things like these wipes. Same seller is already up over $700 in wipes just since my first reply. Makes me sick to sellers take advantage of people’s fear over this virus.

Trust me they are getting reported by several people!  There are literally hundreds of people sitting around reporting every little hand wipe etc that comes across Ebay, however certain people it seems can still sell them.  Like the one I reported, not only was it not taken down but it sold 3 days later.  They have trigger words that pull up everything that should not be listed, but like I said some people can still do it.

So ebay has these "obvious search tools" yet they are unable to keep up taking down all these listings. So what are you trying to say?

Actually, why should they?  It would cost them money. They have all these "volunteers" who will report for free. 

More importantly, eBay has the technology to simply not let the listings post at all.  They are not doing that.  It would cost them money.
