My son logged into a friends account at work. Ebay then took my sons seller fees out of the friends account. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN!?
My own account is set up to pay fees and labels from one account and sales into another. I checked this morning and my fees were taken from the other account but shipping labels have not changed accounts. Needless to say the fees bounced my bank account since it was backup payment method and there wasn't enough in that account or the bank to cover the entire amount. I now owe a $29 dollar charge.
Also I got a message that I am all signed up for managed payments, but every time I log in it now says I'm not. So which is it? This is nonsense.

There are very simple solutions to each problem you have listed. Too late for this time, but you can easily prevent it from happening again.

@koochiekoo
The only way the fee's would be taken out of another account is if someone switched the account to pay the fee's from.
Just logging into another account wouldn't effect which account your fee's are taken from.

I'm trying to imagine the mechanism by which ebay would know who was logging into each account.

Most likely answer I can think of is that your son uploaded the listing under his friend's account by mistake. Have you looked at the listing in question to see whose seller ID is showing?

I see the same notifications on my account. I think you'll find that if you click on the link in that warning to go to signup (as if you were doing it for the first time), it will then tell you in the next screen that you are in fact all signed up and ready for MP. It's just sloppy programming on eBay's part; nothing new there.

Sloppy programming on ebay's part is unacceptable, improvement needed
