My sales are through the roof this week

Last week was one of the slowest I had since starting here. I’m not complaining but my sales are off the charts this week. Do sales pick up like this in November? Is it because of Christmas that it picks up like this? My sales have never been this good. I don’t get it.

Historically for me, July has always been the slowest month with June coming in second. This is due to folks being on vacation and doing more outdoor activities.

Then sales pick up in August and really take off Sept-Dec due to Holiday shopping and the weather which keeps people in the home.

Surprisingly, January is also a boom month because of the weather and what I suspect is the post-Christmas blues.

Regarding October: This hasn't been a normal one thanks to eBay rolling out those massive category changes on the 14th. Normally, I make great $ at this time, but the new changes killed it. I went about 10 days with only 2 sales which is unheard of for me. I think Buyers were (and still are) having difficulty locating their target items. I'm relieved to report, though, that my sales have picked up, but the volume is still low. Fortunately, I've had some big ticket items sell, so that's helped me recover from this eBay debacle.

Well, for many sellers, sales do pick up as we get closer to Christmas (depending a lot on what the seller sells). But ups and downs are common in retail, so it's hard to say if you are seeing the start of a major upward swing (I hope so) or just one of those "ups".  And without knowing what you sell, it's hard for us to even guess at that.

Also, sometimes a seller is in the right place at the right time, so to speak. So, if a lifestyle magazine or influencer or TV show recently promoted the kind of stuff you are selling.....you can see a big jump. Sometimes it can be something as simple as a popular blogger talking about your type of stuff (or better yet, YOUR stuff).

So, just as with sales declines, trying to pinpoint the reason can be pretty difficult.

The only way to look at sales and volume is using a 60 day average.  On the old seller hub that information was there at first glance but the idiots in San Jose took it away leaving only a 30 day dollar total.

Still working on required item specifics and not even close to getting All listed items in the proper category. The fact that when you begin the editing process to change categories and you lose ALL item specifics is a nightmare. I love the fact they want information regarding production years yet provide you with really no way to identify and item made for over 10 years. Regarding sales nothing is selling for me.

Open two copies of the original listing........work on one, referring back to IS on the first if you need to.

Or you can use the custom date range and compare anything within the last 3 years @m60driver. My custom date range calendar goes back to Nov 8, 2018.

I can have a record sales day one day .... and a zero sales day the next.

It seems to come in "spurts". It always has for me.

After a couple months of horrible sales, our sales are up a lot this week as well.

But this should have begun a month ago. In October. There is no way our sales will recover for the year after eBay's super duper upgrades.
