My listed item was hijacked

I listed an item under my account and when I looked at the listing it was owned by another user.  This means that my payment will go to them when the auction closes. What do I do? Help!

Please be more specific.

I don't see that you have any listings so it's impossible to even search to see what you're talking about.

I've heard of this and it's very unnerving!  There's a new update that states that ebay may (will) promote listings with other 'ebay family network sites' so maybe that's what's going on? Not sure how it works. Sounds kinda funny to me but others have said things like 'If my things are being seen in other places and results in sales, it's fine with me' but I'm not sure that's related.  Things are more complicated than ever before here and it's scared me to move on.  I'm a buyer now.  My account is still (not this one) open in case things get more understandable.  I don't like doing business where I'm number 2 in my own biz and can't see, hear, communicate, etc. with my 'partner'.

Maybe someone will come along and throw some light on this for both of us!

Item # or title of the item in your listing (so we can look for it)?

Hmm: no listing show on the username you posted with.

If you logged in and did not pay attention to the user name and listed: that may be the problem.

Other wise there is no way it was hijacked: unless the user name you listed it under was changed.

If so you may have been hijacked and need to report such:

You can hack in to an account (which it doesn't appear your has been)

but you can "hijack" a listing.

I frequently have orders that have a note: "Please do not send an invoice, or packing slip - This is a gift"

When you look at the BUYERS eBay ID- it's recently established, and often not in the U.S.

The scam is that they wait for 29 days and request a RETURN because they didn't like the item. eBay automatically accepts the RETURN REQUEST and expects you to honor it.

Our products are vinyl stencils and templates, so our return policy is to accept returns up to 30 days on UNUSED and RESELLABLE products ONLY.  We always send them a message stating this policy. The scammer will wait until the last date for a refund to be issued and notify eBay that the item was delivered, and eBay automatically issues a refund.

The tracking number eBay provided the buyer shows nothing about it being delivered, but eBay doesn't check that.

The scam is that the person who actually bought from the scammer gets their product, and the scammer gets your refund. I have had this happen multiple times and I always challenge eBays' decision and win, but it takes forever to go through that process. eBay purposely doesn't have a way for the SELLERS to contact time to discuss things like this. SELLERS are always the criminals in their minds...
