I understand GTC works for many of you, good for you. However, I have slow moving inventory, I rely on promotional listings and I like to list every few days. I don’t want my 200 promo listings to renew. It’s a huge hassle to have to check every day to see what I’d get charged for. And since I’ve tried sticking to the 50 freebies and listing once a month so I only have to tack one day, I haven’t sold a thing. Some items I was getting 30-60 views on now have 3 or 4. If eBay wants me as a serious seller here again, I want the 30 day fixed back or 200 monthly free listings. The industry is moving in the direction of free listings till it sells. I know eBay doesn’t care but I just won’t continue to take hits from eBay with nothing in return.

You are saying two different things here? eBay has made it clear that GTC is here to stay and non store sellers are not entitled to 200 free listings. If you want that many free insertions all the time then a store would be best for you.
What hits are you speaking about taking? You say you are working within the 50 free non store insertions, so I am not understanding what your outcry is about?

Of course it is a hassle, and of course it is a money grab. They know that people are going to forget and get charged. They already state they don't have to show your items, and it's a short step to hiding items until a couple relisting's have passed, and them showing them to get extra profit off every sale. When you can't expand your market, you have to juice the market base further. The balance is when you juice to the point of it being unattractive to your market base. My stock that does meet my eBay criteria goes up for 30 days. 90% I will not relist, as it will most likely never sell. 10% will sell at some point, so it is relisted, but not always right away. Some may be more seasonal, as in activities or hobbies that are more conducive to warmer or colder weather. I predict more sellers leaving.

It is a hassle as I received 500 promo listings and used a good portion of them. The extra listings and exposure have not increased sales so at the end of 30 days - I'll just cancel them and move them elsewhere where they will hopefully sell.
Things you find are no longer selling here - will sell elsewhere and vice versa as every venue has a different type of clientele.

The OP is not saying two different things. He said he likes to list every fews days, but now that gtc is required he feels he must list all 50 on the same day so that he does not have to monitor the site constantly in order to end listings he doesn;t want to pay to renew.
And I thought the OP was pretty clear about the 'hits' he is taking - since he started listing like this to manage gtc listings, his views are down 90% and he hasn't sold a thing. Those sure sound like 'hits' to me.

Well, my results for April are complete - between April 17th and 29th - 187 of the first time GTC listings over my four accounts rolled over, and not a single one sold. I had a total of 35 sales in April - which is average for April - one of my slowest months. That broke down into 14 newly listed items and 21 mnaual relists of previously 30 day fixed price listings - also a typical split.
Even though this is only a two week window so far GTC has not resulted in an increase in sales, and even worse, the listings that rolled over aren't showing much in the way of additional views. When does the "Google effect" kick in??
I was planning to give GTC 90 days to see if it actually produced sales, but if May doesn't produce some positive results, I'll be cancelling all my listings on Day 29 and go back to only manual relists.

Spot on it hurts small sellers. People who used to be valued by ebay.
GTC was a transparent grab for more relisting fees.
