Multiple items with no views no watchers, but bids.

Ok something is really screwy.  I have multiple items ending tonight with no views and no watches but they have opening bids.   How is that possible.  Don't you have to look at an item to bid on it?  I mean you should have to anyways,  because there is important information that's in the listing that you will not get from the Thumbnail and title strip.

Glad I pay $18,000 a year to a company that is so full of glitches they don't have enough time to fix them before the next update that causes the whole new batch of terror for the sellers.

From the time I started reading eBay Community Boards over 16 years ago … members have been saying that View counts were messed up and should not be taken seriously.

On the other hand, Watchlist counts were much more accurate.

I’ve been surprised to read lately that sellers had been making important decisions based on Views, which continues to be untrustworthy.

[I realize that eBay recently changed the way it reports Views … but I don’t think that the metric has become any more reliable.]

Those page view counts were never anything you could depend on. I have seen them go down during listings.

There used to be free third party counters you could html into a listing that were better.

Your item was visible to buyers and has bids. So the "terror" is that the view count hasn't been updated correctly?

If incorrect view counts is your biggest problem, you are one lucky individual.

     I use the auction format almost exclusively and have since I started. This has happened for as long as I can remember. As others stated I don't pay much attention to views or watchers the only thing that matters is when an item sells.
