I have a potential buyer in France that wants to buy something. I told him no international shipping but he is begging for the item. He has asked me to join the international shipping program. If I join today, would that include listings that are already on Ebay or would that start with any new listings?
I have no sold internationally for years. I just might give it a try again. This particular buyer has over 2000 feedbacks. Thanks in advance.

I would join, yes that would affect all listings, make the sale, then switch back.

Ok, so the buyer still pays the shipping that is posted but he/she will know what the cost to France will be BEFORE he buys?

Correct. French buyer will be presented with the full shipping cost when buying (before purchase is completed). You get the shipping paid for the US Portion of the trip (sending to the US Shipping Center). Best part is, you will only pay eBay fees on the US Shipping charges. eBay will not charge you fees on the international shipping paid to eBay by the buyer. eBay will protect you from item not received cases as long as your item arrives safely at the US Shipping center.

Just an aside, that's true of any international sale where the international shipping rate is specified in the listing. It's not just "an eIS thing."

Hmm, interesting.
"If you offer 1-day or international shipping as well as a cheaper or free option (like domestic shipping), the total amount of the sale is calculated based on the cheapest domestic option you offer. If you only offer 1-day or international shipping but no cheaper option like domestic shipping, the total amount of the sale is calculated based on the service the buyer chooses." - eBay

Thanks to all for your answers. I spent 30 minutes yesterday trying to enroll and could not do it. Maybe I was just too tired but I really think that it should be easier. I know that I qualify for that account since I'm a top rated seller and no defects. I know that seller ID qualifies for sure. (Not this one) Is there a direct link?
Otherwise, I will try again later on.
