I started listing some MV Listings today and noticed you can only add new options to attributes only when initially listing an item... NOT revising after it's already live. In other words, I can't add Grey (new attribute) to my Colors (existing attribute) when revising the listing.
Is this an ebay glitch? I checked back and I have over a hundred MV listings and I'm currently able to add a new color to those. I just can't do it with the listings I made on 2/25 and after. Any of you guys getting this problem too? I called CS rep and they said sellers are no longer able to add new attributes when revising... that CAN'T be true.
Here is a screenshot of what I am talking about. You can see on the left pic there is a link to "Create your own" near the "Update variations" button. The pic on the right (new listings) doesn't have that link anymore.

Thanks for commenting. With all due respect, it seems that your issue is not similar to the one I brought up. I need to know if other sellers are experiencing the same thing as I am or not. With what you explained, I'm guessing you can't verify since you have another problem that doesn't allow you to check for my issue. Thanks anyways.
So can anyone confirm if they are hitting this issue (can't add custom color/size when revising listings created after 2/25), or is able to add them?

Yes I'm getting the same problem - the issue is that you can't vary certain aspects of a variation if you have already sold some of that variation - presumably so that the resolution centre has access to listing data that was consistent with purchases.
I was told to end the listing and then re-list it. That didn't work, neither did a fresh listing from a template.

Me too! Let's say I'm selling a shirt in different colors and sizes. Can I not add the variations of Size AND Color?
Say it ain't so!

I found a work around trick to this. But I think it only works when you create a new listing (not when revising). So that means you'd have to add every possible color you plan on selling in the future and just put zero quantity in them to make a place holder for later.
Steps:
Using my screenshot as an example, Click on +Add within the Attributes. Create a "dummy attribute", you can name it anything like Temp. Once you successfully added the attribute, the "Create Your Own" button magically appears on every page now. You can only add another attribute if you currently have 3 or less attributes, because ebay doesn't allow you to add more than 4. So if you already have 4 attributes, you're SOL.
Once you have that button showing, just remove the Temp Attribute.

I wasted alot of time trying to add variaitions to an existing listing. EBay should incorporate an serror message when this is attempted to save sellers time and frustration

There must be something you are not doing in the correct order? I just tried to add a variation to an active listing and it did accept it? Here is the path I took.
Are you doing this from a home PC, a mobile device and or the eBay app?
Good Luck Selling!
