Multiple Stores

I want to sell two different themes of things, I want to sell fishing supplies and computer accessories but I don't want them to be on the same store because I want each store to be dedicated to one specific theme. So one store is for the fishing supplies and the other for the computer accessories. I don't want them to be mixed in the same account. Is there anyway to separate them under one overall account so I can manage all sales from one account. Or do I have to open two separate accounts. I want to do this while following all eBay guidelines so my account doesn't get banned. Any information is appreciated.

You need to open another account for the separate store.

An alternative is to have one store but two different categories with (with subcategories) in that store. They'll all be in one place, but buyers are just going to search under that particular category.

Hell is empty. And all the devils are here.

I believe you need 2 accounts...

you probably want that anyways for marketing (username might reflect the niche/product)

Speaking from experience...

Customers don't seem to care if you sell...

Candy, carburetors or diapers under the same username.

As long as you have what they want, they will buy it.

The only person who will be paying attention to the "theme" of your store is you.

Save yourself the hassle of setting up multiple accounts.

The less interaction you have with eBay, the better.

How many listings of each do you plan on having?  It may not make sense to pay for two stores...or even one.

I think two accounts would be better for me because I do not want the two different themes of items to be associated with eachother

Is that okay according to the Ebay guidelines though?

I understand completely.   I hate it when my mashed potatoes get mixed in with my corn.

You can have as many ebay accounts as you want however you can't manage multiple accounts from the same interface.

I suggest just using a single account. I know your brain is telling you that customers will get mixed up or turned off but very, very few customers actually browse people by store and the ones who do will find the matching items even if the store sells more than one thing.

I sell full time pretty high volume and actually have two accounts because of limits in the number of listings and I can tell you that very, very few customers purchase multiple items at once, regardless of how you structure things or incentivize them to do so.  Once just to prove a point for a youtube video I was making I put one of my stores buy 1 get 1 free, the entire store for a week, did over 100 transactions and only 7 of the customers selected a second item, even though the second item was free. Basically exactly equal to the number of customers who bought multiple items in separate transactions and paid separate shipping for every single one of them and got nothing free at all.

Few ebay customers actually read anything and they primarily shop directly from search and purchase 1 item at a time.

You cant have one overall account on ebay to manage two ebay stores.

Easiest way is used two browsers. I have one on Opera and one on Chrome. So I dont have to switch logins as often. I also use Inkfrog to manage the inventory of the two accounts. You can select which store to list them on within inkfrog.

Sometimes having it theme do help some sellers.. Heck I dont want to list my playboy next to my barbies. lol

I don't think the OP isn't even talking about stores, he's talking about just usernames.

One username to sell fishing supplies.

One username to sell computer accessories.

My opinion is that it's not necessary.

The guy buying a fishing reel from you doesn't care that you also sell computer stuff.
